Geph is proud to have supported our Iranian users during the internet shutdowns following the 2022 protests -- our total user count grew more than 10x over the duration of the Mahsa Amini protests.
Today, a majority of Geph's free users are from Iran, and we continue to support them amidst severe Internet censorship.
(user count measuring was down from ~Oct 15 - Dec 1)
1/ On Tuesday, Iran’s judiciary announced that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei pardoned journalists Niloufar Hamedi and Elaheh Mohammadi, who were imprisoned for reporting on Mahsa Amini’s death in 2022. Her death sparked months of protests, serving as one of the biggest challenges to the regime in 20 years. apnews.com/article/iran-fema…

We just improved how our exit servers handle DNS requests -- our previous implementation was struggling under the massive amount of requests from our 500k daily active users.
This should solve many issues with connectivity many of you reported on Telegram.
If you're still experiencing connections breaking up, slowness, or any issues with Geph, join our Telegram group and let us know!
