Relations between the EU and the Philippines are on a positive trajectory.
Today, we are upgrading our ties towards an Enhanced Partnership. This means closer coordination on foreign and security issues, as well as on areas that matter to our citizens - from trade to climate, digital and connectivity.
We also make available the first-ever European Peace Facility assistance measure for the Philippine Armed Forces, worth €15 million.
It is the first-ever support to be implemented in the Indo-Pacific and a clear sign that Europe is stepping up as a security partner in the region.
My remarks in Manila with @SecLazaro ↓
That Nimsdai would not return from an expedition seemed impossible for everyone who like me has met him personally. His professionalism, his courage were outstanding as were his assistance and inspiration to others. My condolences to all who lost their beloved in the avalanche.
Media outlets in Nepal have been reporting about my recent visit to PMO in various forms and manners. I would like to underline that neither I personally nor the German Embassy have had any exchanges with journalists on this and have not authorised any publication in this respect

Congratulations to the Rastriya Swatantra Party for an overwhelming victory in the elections. The Nepali people have extended to you a very strong mandate for good governance, economic development and democratic renewal.
We commend the government of Nepal and the competent authorities for holding elections as scheduled and the commitment of the Nepali people to a democratic and peaceful process.

(1/n) We are all exhausted by the grim headlines. But Ukrainians cannot afford that. They must fight for their survival as a free and independent nation, everyday, every minute. 4 years into the full-scale invasion, everyone in Ukraine wants peace. #StandWithUkraine #GermanyHelps
(2/n) But peace requires willingness on both sides. While Ukraine is and has always been ready for a just and lasting peace, Putin still refuses to even negotiate. That is why the war drags on.
(n/n) And that is why Germany continues to support Ukraine’s resistance. Until just and lasting peace becomes possible. 🇩🇪🇺🇦
