“I’ve known about Gerald’s story but I suppressed it because I was trying to put that possibility to the side. It was just too real while I was still fighting.”
The reality of what can happen to you as fighters is always there.

One of the heaviest episodes of THE ART OF WARD yet.
Andre Ward sits down with Lisa McClellan — sister and full‑time caretaker of former two‑time WBC Middleweight Champion Gerald “G‑Man” McClellan — for a raw, unfiltered breakdown of what really happened the night Gerald’s life changed forever.
Lisa drops revelations boxing fans have argued about for decades, and how boxing failed Gerald on that night and ever since.
This is the family’s truth, and a chapter of boxing history too many fans never heard.
