I was pleased to meet H.E. Ms. Rita Schwarzeluehr-Sutter, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Ministry for the Environment of Germany, in Vienna. We exchanged views on the challenges posed by crimes that affect the environment and the need to address their links with other forms of organized crime, as well as the need for fostering strategic partnerships to optimize resources and achieve greater impact. I commend Germany for its strong leadership and continued support, which have been instrumental in keeping this issue high on the global agenda.
