Together with i2pd @i2porignal we have reviewed and adopted a proposal to request and allocate bandwidth for individual tunnels geti2p.net/spec/proposals/16โฆ which will help us manage traffic more efficiently and enable higher-bw applications

One of the interesting findings is that the GFW's blocking behavior is bidirectional but not always symmetric. This asymmetric interference adds a new layer of complexity to understanding the GFW's censorship tactics. For instance, the @torproject's domain and many VPN services trigger the GFW's packet injection **only** when accessed from inside China, not from outside.
These small group of "special" domains also trigger prolonged residual censorship, in which the GFW drops traffic for 350 seconds after blocking a domain. This can hinder automated censorship circumvention tools.

For instance, the domain geti2p.net of @GetI2P is blocked by the DNS and HTTP filters but not by the HTTPS filter. By (1) importing the domain's correct IP address into the hosts file to bypass the DNS filter and (2) accessing the domain via HTTPS, one can still reach the website. This underscores the importance of understanding the GFW's multi-layered filtering architecture for effective circumvention strategies.
