Under UK law, #PetTheft is seen as no different to the theft of an inanimate object. This means that if someone is caught stealing a Labrador, they are likely to get the same sentence as if caught stealing a laptop. Think this is wrong? Please sign & RT petition.parliament.uk/petit…

The kindness of strangers is certainly helping reunite families with stolen pets, it is quite clear the current theft laws are not. Will you be kind enough to sign & RT our petition to reclassify #PetTheft to a specific crime, @EamonnHolmes & @RuthieeL? 🐶 petition.parliament.uk/petit…

Apparently dog theft is rising, despite mandatory microchipping. Surely what we need is mandatory scanning at all agencies who deal with dogs - vets, groomers, etc. What do you think? #dog #microchip #dogtheft bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42945913

The number of dogs being stolen is increasing despite mandatory microchipping, one organisation says.

OLIVE REUNITED ❤️ A very nice couple rang owner today, they had bought Olive in good faith and then realised from Facebook that she was a stolen Dog. Owners drove to #Wolverhampton and are now home. Olive had been looked after and was over the moon to see them.
