My house after middle of the night depression ordering from Amazon. Why yes I do need 18”x18” pillow covers in 8 different colors. And are those lamps on sale??
A reminder I have got to do a whale watching trip this year. I’ve never done it and it’s got to be like top 5 bucket list
the San Diego Orcas killed ANOTHER fin whale today - everything on video (nxtlevelsailing on IG)
supposedly never documented before (orcas taking down a fin whale) but now 2 in a week
asked my buddy how they’d do it: some of them bite the tail and pull down and the rest of the pod swarms on top to hold it under and drown it 😬😳
People, please call me before you do something like this. I’ll set y’all right.
This 600 square foot cottage at 617 Sanchez street San Francisco sold off market for 6 million.
$10,000 per square foot!
That’s gotta be a price per square foot record.

I’ve had steaming tv on as background noise while I clean and I’ve heard the DHL commercial featuring “Bibbidi Bobbidi, Boo” a not hyperbolic 9,687 times today and I cannot get it out of my head. Just laying here going… “Welllll Salagadoolah means…”

I made slow cooked Japanese curry. I’ve never really liked it because it was a school cafeteria staple, but it came out ok. It basically tasted like a rich beef stew.

Rents in San Francisco's market rate buildings have staged an amazing rally in 2026. Trade-outs of 30 and 40% are not uncommon, city-wide.
So I put together a map of asking rents and a grid of what's current available for lease.
What do I notice?
The map tells the entire story: the dataset is projects built in the last 15 years that have their own websites (self-selecting for larger buildings), where rents can be reset to market with no annual limit.
And those projects are clustered in a few neighborhoods with the vast majority of the city left out.
This is what I mean when I say that the development pipeline matters a lot less to rents in (Nob Hill, the Marina, Pac Heights, the Richmond, etc) than SOMA, DogPatch, Mission Bay and downtown.
Those areas also had much more inventory to burn through during the recent boom, which meant rent increases there lagged the neighborhoods.
Rent-wise, these levels really aren't any different than what we lease renovated rent control stock for.
Are some owners getting huge rents in certain luxury buildings? Of course - this survey is what's out there right now.
Also interesting to note the relative jump in rents from 1-beds to 2-beds, compared to studios to 1-beds. Lots of 2-beds out there, but nothing cheap.
Tech note: Data scraped off the public web (not Zillow) by GrokBot, visualized with ChatGPT, which does a nice job without much instruction.

This is so scammy looking. No way this is real. @jamestalarico staff needs to make sure people aren’t committing fraud in your candidate’s name.
