imho A trade “deficit” is actually better for the country on the deficit side of the balance of trade. The deficit means they received more valuable goods, in return for money. In an indictment on anyone who complains about a deficit, indicating they are obsessed with money.

The tariffs themselves are bad enough. But the backpedalling every month to delay for another month leads to uncertainty. Businesses can't plan when dealing with chaos. NO businesses will invest in new capacity until they can confidently forecast a profit increase.
