You much catch @TotaMonoceros AKA Totally Unicorn who last time I photographed them at River Rocks at @Barwonclub Hotel, the lead singer, Drew Gardner completely destroyed everything on and off the stage. They’re INSANE and a great fit for tonight. Anyway, here is some fun footage from TISM from their first Forum Theatre show. THE LAST AUSSIE F1 HERO! Very sad to hear the news that F1 World Champion, Alan Jones has passed away a few days after turning 80. In the ground effects era of @F1, he dominated in the Williams. He was the main reason why they started to broadcast F1 here in Australia. Later on as a broadcaster for Channel 9, I valued his no bullshit, honest appraisal of what was going on. I saw him race many times over the years but the most exciting was 1980 at Calder Park when he raced his Williams FW07B / Ford Cosworth DFV (his championship-winning F1 car, run in Unipart livery) against Bruno Giacomelli’s Alfa Romeo 179 and other Formula 5000 cars. He lapped the whole field. GOOD ONYA JONESY! That was a day to remember. 🍃🥀🍂 #AlanJones

Booyakasha! @SachaBaronCohen's Ali G Who Iz I? has just dropped on @amazon Prime Video. CHECK IT! It's his directorial debut and the first time in 20 years that he has returned to his iconic @OfficialAli_G character. FOR REAL! For fine purveyors of crude comedy, this is a must watch. IT'S WICKED! That naked fight with his hairy producer in @BoratSagdiyev still makes me laugh at loud. I'm surprised he hasn't been beaten up with some of his previous antics in Bruno and Borat. He might not be a household name here in Australia but it is with deep sadness that I acknowledge the passing of @donnieiris at the age of 83, following a courageous three-year battle with bladder cancer. His music and especially the exuberant 1980's classic “Ah! Leah!”, continues to resonate as a vibrant expression of pure rock energy and remains a cherished presence in power pop collections worldwide. The song’s driving spirit and that unforgettable mid-section—with its richly layered, multi-tracked vocals reminiscent of @thecarsband's “Moving In Stereo”, capture the essence of joyful, radio-ready rock. I always thought it should have been a chart-topping worldwide hit but I don't remember it getting any local airplay here in Australia, except for the weekly Casey Kasem American Top 40 radio show. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ In the accompanying music video, Donnie projected a distinctive, relatable presence that set him apart from the conventional rock-star archetype of the era. He was more Eugene Levy rather than David Lee Roth. As a sidenote, the woman in this music video featured actress Lana Clarkson, who unfortunately in 2003 was murdered by the famous "wall of sound" music producer, #PhilSpector. Donnie's music catalogue, too, deserves renewed attention. In 2021 Rock Candy Records remasters of his first four MCA albums, expanded with additional tracks, offer a rewarding immersion in his body of work and is highly recommended.
