Ik ben er voorstander van dat we eerst eens nagaan in welke mate het afnemen van de schooltoeslag ooit al 1 leerling terug naar school heeft doen gaan.

New article 'School absenteeism and academic achievement: does the timing of the absence matter?' out in Learning and Instruction. Funded by @FWOVlaanderen
Few studies have examined how timing of absenteeism affects achievement. Results show that absences are more harmful at the beginning and end of the school year. The effect of time also varies according to the absenteeism reasons.

New paper "First-Generation College Students’ Motives to Start University Education" out now in YOUNG written by @Sj_Boone, @elsconsuegra, @IlseLaurijssen, @BramSpruyt1, Filip Van Droogenbroeck and myself, and funded by @VUBrussel
We show that First Generation College Students endorse more an economic investment motive and a social investment motive. These motives also relate to the choice for more economically rewarding fields of study.
