โShe had already published The Bluest Eye and Song of Solomon when she really began to gain traction as an editor. Instead of saying, โI am satisfied being the only one,โ she was very clear that she wanted to be in community with other Black writers.โ zora.medium.com/toni-morrisoโฆ

I wonder what Write Every Day Twitter would say if I shared that I stopped writing fiction* for 10 years before I started LEGENDBORN.
Wonder what Fanfic Isn't Real Writing Twitter would say if I clarify that the only fiction* I could even bear to attempt was fanfic. โค๏ธ
If youโre currently reading our October pick, #Legendborn, what chapter are you on? Whoโs your favorite character?

Saying youโre an author:
- generates financial comparisons to You Know Who
- opens narratives about how โXโ too has written books
- youโll forever be asked if your book is out yet
Saying you create worlds and kill people:
- makes people back away slowly and leave you in peace
We are so thrilled to have the #BlackGirlsWithMagicBooks book club featured in The Guardian! Thank you @guardian for letting me speak about the importance of having Black speculative fiction be seen.
