Let’s squeeze this one for all the juice it’s worth.
We’ll do a little Sunday session starting at 2:30pm MT, and I can give it at least a couple hours.
Look forward to hearing from everyone soon! 👇

I’m in church at this moment.
Didn’t go to BYU. Didn’t apply. Not a generational Utah fan.
Feeling is perspective. I’ve never felt unwelcome at Utah games on campus. Ever.
Being a Utah fan to me personally is one of the coolest things I’m apart of. It’s a big ol family of people from all different walks of life. I love it.

Utah fans are seriously people who hate the church, people who didn’t get into BYU, and then a few generational LDS Utah fans. Even though Utah has the largest LDS Institute in the country, the feeling on campus is certainly anti-LDS.

The Bennee strip sack from the sideline… just an awesome atmosphere in RES tonight
The last time Utah was ranked #6 in the AP Top 25 poll was November 24, 2019.
That was 7 years ago.
🚨 WEEK 9 BIG 12 POWER RANKINGS 🚨
No notes.
Don’t like your team’s spot? Win those games.
THE BEST:
1) Utah
THE REST:

This isn’t an easy conference to rank, but I took my stab at it. One thing is for sure, Utah is indisputably number one.
🚨Week 8 Big 12 Power Rankings🚨
Some of my logic and reasoning below the tiered list.
THE CONTENDERS:
1 - BYU ⬆️2
2 - Texas Tech ⬆️2
3 - Utah 🔻2
4 - Houston ⬆️2
STILL DANGEROUS:
5 - Arizona ↔️
6 - Oklahoma State 🔻4
CAN CAUSE PROBLEMS:
7 - Kansas State ⬆️3
8 - Iowa State ⬆️1
9 - West Virginia ⬆️5
NOT QUITE THE BASEMENT:
10 - TCU ⬆️5
11 - Baylor 🔻4
12 - Cincinnati 🔻4
13 - UCF ↔️
LONDON WAS FUN:
14 - Arizona State 🔻3
15 - Kansas 🔻3
ALMOST FOUND THEM:
16 - Colorado ↔️
———————————
A shakeup at the top this week.
BYU gets the job done against #2 Notre Dame, and it’d be hard to put them anywhere other than #1 until further notice.
Texas Tech continues to get it done, one way or another, and I was impressed by their 43 first-half points against ASU. I gave them the nod at #2 for the time being.
Utah got out of Boulder with a win, and that’s all that should matter. But the performance gives reason for pause and raises some questions. The Ute slide down to #3, with a chance to move up if they’re able to win a Top-15 showdown with Houston on Saturday. College GameDay will be in Salt Lake City. Need to see this team bounce back and show that Saturday night in Boulder was just a weird one.
Houston won a close one over a good Oklahoma State squad, and showed me what I needed to see to become a believer. Houston has a balanced offensive attack, and Weigman has done a nice job of leading this team. Willie Fritz has his Cougars in business with his third year at the helm. Going to be a tough test for Utah on Saturday.
After that, you cannot ignore Arizona or Oklahoma State. Two teams that are dangerous enough to knock off anyone in the league. I give Arizona the nod for now, but these two feel interchangeable.
Then you’ve got a few teams that can make it happen and keep it interesting on any given Saturday, each with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. They’re on the outside looking in, but not to be slept on or they’ll cause problems.
Beyond that, you start to get into the lower tiers of the conference. There’s enough parity in this league that anyone CAN beat anyone, but these are the teams least likely to get it done. Naturally, now that I’ve said as much… expect chaos.
(POWER RANKINGS CREATED WITH THE ASSUMPTION #1 can beat #2 through #16; #2 can beat #3 through #16; and so on…)

It was great to see the stadium actually full!
Loved how people stayed all the way until the final whistle.
That was the best showing by @TheMUSS this season.
First half & the interceptions by Utah were stressful.
Utah’s defense is elite!
This team has heart & resilience.

As the PA voice at Rice Eccles I can tell you the only other crowd comparable was the night USC came to town and Rising ran it in late! There is a reason I called for Ute fans to give THEMSELVES a hand in the closing minute!! BRAVO!!

The energy never let up all night long, and I could feel it the instant we walked into the stadium.
It was loud.
It was rowdy.
It was electric.
One of the best atmospheres at RES I’ve been to in a long time.
Good day to everyone who enjoyed a beautiful college football Saturday.
May your Sunday be filled with joy.

I’ve been to most of the P4 stadiums in the country.
Very few come anywhere near Rice-Eccles. This place is truly magical. You don’t come here and win very often. This rivals the best of the very best. This is special, folks.
What did you think of Rice-Eccles Stadium tonight?
Whether you were there…
… or watched on TV…
… or never want to come here again…
Talk to me.
