Draymond says the Warriors’ 0-3 start is “shitty” but the vibes in the locker room are still pretty good: “Pretty rough start. Especially tough beat that we gave the game away at home in Game 2 versus Memphis. I think we had a 12-point lead with 3½ minutes to go or something like that, and they went on a 17-2 run to close out the game. And interestingly enough about that game in particular, I think when we were down 8, you could kind of feel the game flipping. Although they were only down 8 and there was 2 minutes to go, you could kind of feel the game flipping a bit. Now, when I look back at that game, I think we had every chance we needed to win the game. I think I missed the layup. Steph missed the layup. Like, I think we had opportunities to close that game out, and we just didn’t do a great job of closing. But speaking of just being 0-3, I mean it’s shitty, especially being that we’re on the road trip right now, where next up is Denver and then at Minnesota. You know, tough start. You definitely don’t want to start the season 0-5, so we got to figure out how to pull out at least one of these wins, which will be a tall task, but I think we’re more than capable. But overall, I think the vibes in the locker room are still pretty good. No one’s going to feel great after losing, so I’m not going to sit here and be like, ‘Oh, man. Guys feel great.’ Like, no one’s going to feel great after losing, especially having an 0-3 record. No one’s going to feel good about that. Needless to say, nobody’s hitting the panic button. No one’s losing their minds. No one is sulking around the locker room. Like, we know we let one get away for sure. Obviously last night, the game against Phoenix was going to be tough just due to the bodies that we didn’t have against Phoenix. But I still thought the young guys did a good job of competing. They kept making runs to get back in the game. I thought that was beautiful to see. That was good to see Yax have a good game, continue getting better and better each and every time he’s been out there. You saw some other guys, Graham Ike, young fella played well. LJ Cryer, young fella played well. It was good to see Melt get going, BDub get going, right? So, it’s great to see those guys get going. And now, as we come back into the lineup versus Denver, you’re going to need those guys to continue to play with that same aggression that they played with against Phoenix. And we need to push it forward a little bit. But as far as things that we need to change, I think defensively, we know we need to be better. And I thought against Memphis, they had their runs and stuff, but I thought for the most part, in stretches, we played good defense. Now, you want to put it together for a whole game, but I did think some of the things that we had discussed from the Laker game that we didn’t do really well, I thought we did better in the Memphis game. And like I said, we just weren’t able to close it out. But in saying that, no one’s frustrated. Just got to keep going, try to get a win and figure it out.” (via @DraymondShow)
