More and more we’re seeing @Yamaha keytops of a certain age falling off. Do keep them somewhere safe if yours does, it makes life a lot easier to put them back on!
Hope everyone enjoyed Nigel Kennedy at the Rose Theatre last night. Sounded pretty good in rehearsals

Finding rodent damage in pianos isn’t uncommon. It’s usually mice, often chewing the action to make in to nests, but it was a rat this time. The keys and action have escaped serious problems but sadly the bass strings are corroded and now rattling so will all need replacing.
Working on another 100 year old piano (103 to be precise!) and just look at how decorated the frame inside it. You never see this sort of thing today but it wasn’t exactly common back then either.
Today’s lil helper assisting in tracking down a pedal squeak. Solved with a clean and some lubricant applied - to the lift rod, not the dog!
Amazing that 100 years ago some pianos came with a 20 year guarantee. Even more amazing to realise some of these pianos are still going strong!
Theres There’s the week off to a flying start. A complimentary tuning on a rather nice Kawai on behalf of Bonners Pianos and then on to a lovely Bluthner I’ve had the pleasure of looking after for many years.
Call to get piano tuning booked in too

It must be close on 30 years ago when you’d get a teddy with your brand new Kemble piano. It must be a rare thing now, this is the only one I’ve seen in years. Have you still got yours?
From concert pianos, to studio pianos, and on to home pianos, I’ve tuned them all over the last week. Call to book yours in too.
A tuning day of contrasts. A brand new Yamaha U1 and then a Schroder grand that’s nearly 100 years old and still going strong. #pianotuning
Just a few of the pianos I’ve tuned over the last week or so ready for the new school year next week. Are you #BackToSchool ready? Call now to get booked in
