The right of vegans to live according to this fundamental conviction that it is wrong to use and kill non-human animals, is protected under European human rights law and equality law. This means that service providers have an obligation to avoid any discrimination or harassment on the grounds of veganism. By failing to provide vegan food, food outlets are in breach of vegans’ rights.
