Can you trade on a NEAR launchpad without a NEAR account?
I tested @justhootfun Intents with three wallets from three ecosystems: OKX (EVM), Phantom (Solana) and HOT (NEAR).
Same idea each time:
β’ connect wallet
β’ buy a token
β’ sell it back
β’ withdraw to my own wallet
What I noticed:
β€ With EVM and Solana I traded a NEAR launchpad without setting up anything on NEAR
β€ There are no withdrawal fees. JustHoot pays your gas fees.
β€ The trading fee is just 1%.
β€ The flow felt too smooth. no complex setup.

BREAKING: Binance just suffered the largest crypto hack in history.
Approximately $6.3 BILLION in crypto assets were affected in a massive security breach targeting the world's largest exchange.
Here's what happened:
1. Attackers reportedly compromised a Binance engineer's laptop.
2. They gained access to an internal service and initiated unauthorized withdrawals.
3. Billions in crypto moved across multiple blockchain networks.
4. Around $3 BILLION in affected assets have reportedly been frozen.
But there's a bigger concern.
This was not a smart contract exploit.
It reportedly started with a compromised employee device, raising serious questions about internal security and operational controls.
Binance has stated that:
- User funds are safe.
- All losses will be covered by its SAFU fund and company funds.
- Deposits and withdrawals were temporarily suspended.
- A full technical investigation is underway.
The biggest crypto exchange in the world just exposed how vulnerable centralized infrastructure can be.
One compromised device. Billions at risk.
Crypto needs better security not just better technology.

Really glad we got to make this happen in Patna
We had some good conversations around @CronosNetwork , @UltApp and Web3 in general. I also got the chance to share my thoughts and hear different perspectives from people who came along.
What I liked most was getting to meet people in person, especially those who are usually just a profile or a username online. Everyone came from a different background, but we all got to sit together, exchange ideas and learn something new
It was a good experience overall. Hopefully, we get to do more meetups like this in Patna. π€

This is craazy. I asked one of our PhD engineers to look into NEAR *Confidential* Intents wondering how they designed their system. Unredacted, word-for-word, this was his answer π±π±π±
"Everything I found out about the privacy claims and confidential intents is so bad that it seems almost comical and I cannot believe what I am seeing. Apparently they run a completely separate instance of the protocol, which is called FAR (as an opposite to NEAR), and that has a permissioned operator set. The entire confidentiality claim seems to rest upon the fact that it is a permissioned chain and the nodes are trusted to keep things private, there doesn't seem to be any deep technology behind it and it also does not seem to be open source. The entities running the nodes are also not publicly known.
I almost feel weird writing this because it is so absurdly bad that it feels like ... I don't know ... a simulation? I know the usual level of overpromising in Web3 but this is so many levels beyond believable that it still feels unreal."
