A real honour to host Gen Dickinson at @UKSpaceCmd
Some great conversations as to how we can add value with allies and partners as we grow the command.
We briefed our future plans & showed him the HQ building (which we are about to move into) & Space Operations Centre.
Yesterday Gen. James Dickinson, Cdr of @US_SpaceCom visited @UKSpaceCmd & @UKSPOC. Meeting with #UKSpaceCmd personnel including inaugural Cdr, AVM Godfrey @Godderstwit, discussions included space operations & cooperation. Read more here: bit.ly/3vNu8lh #StrongerTogether
Great to meet Paul and talk some Space!
He is a particle physicist - I stayed away from the tricky questions…
Really looking forward to working with him and the team to ensure we do the best for the UK.

2 things were a little different today…
1. I had the privilege to be the Reviewing Officer for an RAF Cranwell Officer graduation.
2. I flew in a Puma…with a sword.
1st time I had been on that parade square since my own grad 30 years ago. They knocked it out of the park!

Delighted to have the UK’s Space Commander @Godderstwit as Reviewing Officer at yesterday’s MIOT 4, SOIT 5 and ROIT 66 graduation congratulations to the RAF’s newest officers. Lovely to see 2 sisters, and daughters of a serving 1*, graduate together! #NextGenRAF #NoOrdinaryJob
What a view!
Really pleased for the team - I flew in a 2 seat Jaguar in ‘94 with Dave Mackay, the @virgingalactic chief test pilot and one of the pilots of Unity today!
Just brilliant.
Welcome to space.
Highlights from the #UNITY21 spaceflight:
Location: Spaceport America, New Mexico
Speed: Mach 3
Space Altitude: 55.45mi

And not forgetting the @goonhillyorg team as well.
There’s a lot of ‘Space’ down there in Cornwall!
A brilliant day with the @SpaceCornwall team yesterday - despite weather imported from winter!
A huge thanks to @MelsGoodSpace for showing us around and talking through prep for satellite launches with @VirginOrbit
Great to be there with @spacegovuk and my wingman @HarvSmyth

Pleasure showing @SpaceCornwall off to this 🇬🇧 All Star Space Lineup @HarvSmyth @Godderstwit @spacegovuk @RAFStMawgan today. Thank you for braving the weather! Exciting things coming for #LaunchUK
I have absolutely no recollection of a Victor flypast. I was probably nervous about having to read everyone’s names out as the youngest Officer on parade!

I have heard Waddo talk about this before, but my jaw was still on the floor.
A brilliant listen and even better to have Parky jnr (Army helicopter pilot in training) along on this as well.
Grab 2 cuppas and some cake and settle in...
Right - grab a cuppa and listen to this.
An amazing account by Air Commodore (Ret’d) Dave Waddington CBE on his personal experience of the first Gulf War.

Who knew I’d get a go in a Warrior in this job...
Loved the latest situational awareness tools in the modern armoured vehicles - HOTAS using fighter stick tops in Ajax!
Great that #ATDU is used as the online bat symbol to help solve problems...
(starts thinking of space #...)
The #ATDU week
We hosted @Godderstwit Commander Space Command. We talked Land/Space dependencies, vulnerabilities & data.
We immersed him in our “cockpits” to compare cognitive load and awareness.
We talked Air/Land seams, autonomy and building a community of practice on here!

Things are sounding really good here. Listen to the first sounds of wind captured by my SuperCam microphone. This mic is located at the top of my mast. For this recording, my mast was still down so the sound is a bit muffled. soundcloud.com/nasa/persever…
For those of you that know me and Harv, we will be trying very hard not to go into full catastrophic story runaway!
Really looking forward to being able to discuss the future of UK Space in the military and civil sectors.
