So I’ll be sharing my progress with re-learning React Native here. I’ve already started so I’ll just put that under day 1. Would have daily reports on what I’ve done. Hoping that by day 31 (the end of the month), I’ve re-learnt it to intermediate level and built a few things

Everyone knows of somebody in their late 20s/30s - without a job, still living with their parents.
Not only do they not have jobs, most have no job prospects.
It is bad enough in Lagos, but in cities like Enugu, it is a lot worse. Nothing is happening.
This breeds intense despair; the kind of despair driving people to cross the Sahara.
The Western Far Right focuses exclusively on "illegal migrants will destroy Western Christian Civilization" - they can afford to; the despair felt by Nigerian/African youth driven by double digit unemployment is not their problem, but it is your problem.
Vote wisely. You have only yourselves to save your present and future.

Oh yeah?
If that's what frat houses are for, close them all entirely, immediately.

This community transformer racket has to stop completely. It is daylight robbery disguised as community self-help, and the regulatory double standard is sickening.
Look at how the power sector works in Nigeria:
When a community transformer blows up, the DisCo goes deaf. You write letters, make calls, and nothing happens. Six months down the line, residents are suffocating in darkness, small businesses are dying, and fuel prices are draining everybody's pockets.
Out of sheer desperation, landlords gather, task every household 50k, 100k, or more, and scrape together 5 to 8 million Naira to buy a brand new transformer, buy heavy copper cables, and pay for poles.
The moment that equipment is energized, the DisCo claims it as company property. They add it to their network balance sheet, and within two weeks, they start distributing Band A and Band B bills. If you do not pay, they disconnect you with the ladder leaning on the very pole you bought with your own sweat.
How can a private, for-profit utility company take free capital equipment from struggling citizens, pay zero interest, give zero equity, and then charge those same citizens full price to use it?
If NERC mandated that customers who pay upfront for meters under the MAP scheme must be refunded their money over time through energy credits, why does the exact same logic not apply to transformers?
A meter costs 100k to 150k and you refund it via monthly energy units.
A transformer costs 6 to 10 million Naira funded by an entire street, and you pretend it was a charitable donation to a private entity?
This injustice has to end.
If a community is forced to step in and buy infrastructure because a DisCo failed its obligations, NERC should make automatic amortization mandatory:
Every single household on that street that contributed to buying that transformer should have their meter credited with monthly energy units until the full cost of the asset, cables, and installation logistics is completely paid back.
You cannot let private DisCos enrich their asset portfolios with crowd-funded community blood and then charge those same people premium tariffs for power. If DisCos want to own the asset, they must refund the people who paid for it.
Tokunbo Wahab himself admitted to needing 2,000 trucks to keep Lagos clean, yet the state only budgeted for 200 in the 2025 budget.
Meanwhile, they spent twice the amount allocated for those waste trucks to buy tables and chairs, a staggering 4 billion naira just for tables and chairs.
Residents around Ikotun Market and Ejigbo Road have resorted to dumping refuse on highways, amid complaints over inadequate waste collection and the absence of visible Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) operations in some streets.
The development comes as illegal dumpsites and refuse heaps persist in parts of Ejigbo, raising concerns over sanitation, public health and the environment.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu recently declared a “small state of emergency” on waste management, while announcing plans to increase waste-disposal capacity, deploy more equipment and restructure LAWMA’s operations.

This Austin ICE shooting is pretty incredible. They smashed the DoorDash driver's car. They shot the driver in the back. They pull them out of the car. Tear open his shirt. Confirm he's been shot. Take him to the hospital. Remove him 4 hours later with the bullet still in him and bring him to detention center for questioning, refusing to tell his family where he is. Apparently he's still there with the bullet in him today, without pain meds, without seeing his family, without seeing counsel, and with ICE doing its own investigation into itself.
A man was shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, according to the Austin Police Department, prompting protests at the scene and backlash from local officials.

I asked the Iyaloja of Oregun market what they use the 2,000 PER DAY levy they collect from EVERY TRADER in Oregun to do;
She said I should go and ask Kabiyesi.
I said she should be able to provide me answers since she is the emissary.
Guess her response?
She will send boys to beat me up 😂😂😂.
Bunch of looting criminals
How can you collect AT LEAST 2,000 naira Everyday from over 200 shops and there is no significant improvement.
Every shop is consistently deteriorating, gutters are stinking because there is no drainage but you will send boys to beat me up after you delayed us for thirty minutes to collect your useless levy?

Using AI tools doesn’t mean you’re allowed to become a terrible developer. You should still know how to get things done without them.
thank god for our shop having “women owned” on the front. a dude came in tonight with a girl, telling me everything they were going to get. I start making stencils and girl goes “I want it to look more like this” and shows me her phone screen, an uber showing up in 15 mins. -

Power shortages cost Nigeria approximately $28 billion to $29 billion every year.
Households and businesses spend an estimated ₦26 billion every single day just on petrol for their generators.
A patient in Minna died mid-surgery when the hospital's generator failed 35 minutes into the operation with no backup fuel.
It is not funny.

See the amount of gymnastics a Nigerian passport puts you through.
You already have a valid visa for your destination, yet you still have to double-check whether you need a separate transit visa just to pass through another country. One missed detail and you could be denied boarding before your trip even starts.
The destination isn’t the problem anymore, the journey itself is. God abeg.

Sony (and possibly also Microsoft) choosing to end physical media for games would mean more dependence on internal storage, adding more pressure to an already strained market for PC parts leading to possibly even high prices.

On the same day Sony told a billion gamers to embrace digital forever, it quietly showed them the catch.
Two announcements, one blog, an hour apart.
First: from January 2028, no new PlayStation game will ship on a disc, digital only.
Second, buried below: Sony is closing the online stores for the PlayStation 3 and Vita, so you will no longer be able to buy games there at all.
Read together, they are not two stories. They are the whole argument about what you actually own.
A disc is the last thing in your home a Silicon Valley company cannot reach. A PlayStation game from 1994 still works today, and the law lets you resell it, lend it, keep it forever.
That is ownership. It is protected by something called the first-sale doctrine, and it applies to physical objects. It does not apply to digital purchases. That is not Sony being cruel. That is the quiet legal truth underneath the whole shift.
Sony's own spokesperson said it plainly today. With all digital content, you are not buying the game. You are buying a personal license for non-commercial use. Not the thing. Permission to use the thing, which depends on the company's servers and goodwill. They once pulled a game called Concord two weeks after launch. Buyers got refunds, but the game itself simply vanished.
This was never really about discs versus downloads. It is about moving the largest entertainment medium on Earth from a world where you own an object the law protects, to one where you hold access the law treats as rented.
Convenient, cheaper, and easier for almost everyone. Also revocable in a way a disc never was.
The click of a disc into a console was ownership. The download is permission. Sony just showed you, in a single morning, how differently the two age.
Do you agree with what Sony did??
