Tinkering on these eyes this morning..
Because of the way I am molding and casting this sculpture of Sitting Bull,
The eyelashes can't be too long and thin, The deep areas around the iris and pupil cannot have any undercuts , crevices that angle inward or the depth be too great relative to the opening. Or else the cast (resin, stone, plaster, etc.) or the mold itself, can lock in place.
Tedious sculpting, while thinking about how the mold and cast will work is occurring , this area is very important.
And then making sure the pupils are correct is really difficult too..
Since I didn't properly start this around set eye proportions on an armature, the pinpoint of the pupil in relation to the center line and overall symmetry is quite annoying, especially if I want him to have a front on stare.
It's getting there though.
