"...act like a straatmeit instead of a mayoral candidate. The statement acknowledges that the person being engaged is a mayoral candidate; he is simply saying she is acting/but is not a straatmeit. This is a criticism of the behaviour, not a claim that the Dr is a straatmeit. Any contrary interpretation seeks to manufacture controversy where none exists. If one says to you, you are acting like a criminal, that doesn't mean he called you a criminal/you are a criminal. It is the behaivor that is the issue not the individual. Looking at the DR's behavior, perhaps the assertion that her behavior is not fit for a mayoral candidate and is that of a straatmeit is not misplaced.

Rwanda is a clear example of what happens when a country enforces its immigration laws and refugees are housed in refugee camps.

That’s why I despise some people, Zimbabweans are wicked & evil! You can see with even their lawyers in this asylum case, they’re busy mocking South Africans as if we have always wanted them out… South Africans are struggling but to them they would rather insult us instead of making means to go home! One thing for sure, if South Africa fails tomorrow Zimbabweans will never accommodate us or take what we have taken from them… they can’t even live with their fellow countrymen in Zimbabwe due to tribalism!

ANC, DA, EFF, RiseMzansi, UN and foreigners are grossly mistaken if they think we will hand over SA without a fight.

1/ There’s more history to the controversy surrounding RISE Mzansi’s Ward 58 (Mayfair) candidate, Aziz Ally, than the recent viral video. I’ve been looking into this Aziz Ally and I think RISE Mzansi owes South Africans a clearer explanation especially about this man’s citizenship status even if he’s a Naturalized citizen (proof it wasn’t acquired fraudulently).
Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma is misleading people about our Ward 58 Councillor Candidate in the City of Joburg. She can't have her cake and eat it too. We will #VoteAmaselaOut on 4 November 2026. We will not be distracted.

In SA you can jump the border, get into a car accident and the government (our tax) will pay you millions. It's only politicians who think this makes sense. And you wonder whose interests do they serve.

Kenya, depending on the source, is either in the top 5 or top 10, in terms of the number of people living with HIV/AIDS. How they think they can mock SA for HIV/AIDS only serves to expose their ignorance.

The DA’s biggest threat is the rise of a strong, principled black-led political alternative that can attract voters disillusioned by the ANC’s poor governance. For years, the DA’s main electoral message was that it offered better governance than the ANC. However, with the rise of @Action4SA, being merely better than the ANC is no longer enough. South Africans now have a credible alternative that is inclusive, accountable, and committed to serving the public interest rather than the interests of a privileged elite. In my view, this may explain the DA’s decision to field Helen Zille as its mayoral candidate for Johannesburg. @Action4SA, through its leadership in Tshwane, has shown that principled, black-led governance is possible, with leaders committed to integrity and accountability. It has shown that leaders can prioritise the interests of South Africans above political patronage, corruption, and self-interest.

Advice such as "Avoid certain places", and " always walk around or jog in groups", is a practical response to the reality of living in a society affected by high levels of crime and violence. Recognizing these realities and taking precautions should not be mistaken for excusing criminal behavior; it is simply an attempt to navigate the world as it is, rather than as we wish it to be.

"Men are women." If you don't believe all men are criminals, then it shouldn't be controversial when we point out the obvious: "not all of us".

It is important to distinguish between gender-based violence (GBV) and the allegations concerning the suspected serial killer in Ekurhuleni, as they are not the same issue. It is this distinction that has led to much of the division in this discussion. One can rightly argue that South African men can, and should, do more to protect women and help combat gender-based violence (GBV). However, that issue should not be conflated with the allegations concerning the suspected serial killer in Ekurhuleni, as they are separate matters that warrant distinct consideration. The United States, for example, has experienced numerous cases involving serial killers who targeted women. Despite the gender of the victims, these offences have generally been treated as criminal acts to be addressed through the justice system, rather than as gender-based violence for which men collectively are expected to hold one another accountable. What we reject is the conclusion that men, as a collective, must hold one another accountable for the actions of an alleged serial killer. That should not be mistaken for a rejection of the gender-based violence (GBV) crisis that has engulfed our country. We fully acknowledge the seriousness of GBV and the need for concerted efforts to address it. However, accountability for the alleged crimes of a serial offender rests with the individual accused and the criminal justice system, not with men as a group.

This one has been lying freely on these streets; there are a handful of South Africans with PhD - Mathematics (Applied), and she is not on that list.
I, Thandiwe Buthelezi successfully defended my 2nd PhD thesis. • Honors - Accounting (Cum Laude) • Masters - Finance • Executive MBA • Msc - Mathematics (Applied) (Cum Laude) • Masters - Financial Mathematics • PhD - Mathematics (Applied) • PhD - Quantum Physics ✌️

The suggestion that the solution to South Africa's GBV crisis is for "men to hold each other accountable" raises important questions. If men are expected to have both the responsibility and the capacity to police and prevent the actions of violent men, how does one reconcile that expectation with the fact that men are themselves murdered at far higher rates than women in South Africa? By implication, is the argument that the men who are murdered in this country are being killed by people they could have simply "held to account"? If men do not have the collective capacity to prevent violent criminals from murdering them, how can it reasonably be argued that they possess the collective capacity to prevent GBV simply by "holding other men accountable"? The premise seems to assume that law-abiding citizens have far greater influence over violent offenders than the reality would suggest.
