I am staying near a convent in an old town in Spain.
Every morning I watch the nuns clean the fountain outside their convent.
This morning I was just leaving when one of the nuns came to give me a present. A bag of oranges and pomegranates that they grow in the convent garden. We had a little chat afterwards.
This is what Christianity is. Giving and not expecting anything in return. Helping those around you. Being generous and taking the time to chat with others and actually listen to what they say.
And I am not even religious but the teachings of Christianity are important and valuable.

What a day.
5 water companies appeal Ofwat's pricing decision and have their appeal approved getting up a further 3% bill increase allowed.
What does that say about Ofwat's original decision, which they worked on for 3 years by the way? And how sick would you feel if you were one of the other companies who didn't appeal?

Thank goodness we’re out of the EU. What an insane thing to say to impressionable little children. Opt out of your sex! Start a life of medication & mutilation before you can count properly. Whoever is behind the funding of this ought to be in prison.
Children will be able to choose their own 'gender' at any age under new EU rules set to be imposed across the continent with penalties for countries that refuse to comply. dailysceptic.org/2025/10/09/…

This map shows U.S. statewide record high maximum temperatures for September. 🌡️
The highest temperature recorded during the month of September in the U.S. is 126°F, which was set in Mecca, California on September 1, 1950. On the same day, Yuma, Arizona reached 123°, which is Arizona's September record. 🌵
A total of 38 states set their September monthly high temperature records before 1955. Of those, 30 of them were recorded in or before 1950. Ten states set theirs in 1925 alone and seven set theirs in 1953.
September is off to a much cooler start this year.

The devastation that over abstraction and drought are causing to the River Colne and its catchment, in all 5 chalks streams.
The @EnvAgency estimate that local water company @AffinityWater are over abstracting local chalk streams by about 430 million litres of water per day (Ml/d), that's about half of the water they supply every day. Oh and they also leak about 160Ml/d from their badly maintained, underinvested, cracked old network of pipes.
And the EA does what exactly?

-Angela Rayner avoided £40k in stamp duty
-She paid for her second seaside home with her son’s NHS compensation
-Her Ashton primary (?) home appears to have been overvalued
-She’s on the electoral role in Ashton even though she doesn’t live there
-She has tried to absolve herself of responsibility by saying she followed legal advice.
-Her lawyers deny advising her on it.
