I find it hilarious that people actually believe Captain America calculates the shield’s trajectory to return to him every single throw. You’re telling me he can predict multiple ricochets off moving targets in the middle of a chaotic fight, then account for his own movements seconds later to catch the shield perfectly?

Bronze Age Iron Man is were it’s at. The second drinking arc ran for ~40(!!!) issues. This type of commitment to storytelling is hardly imaginable these days in the modern comic landscape.

Cap thing got me wondering. Has there ever been a superhero passing the mantle that was universally well received? Peter -> Ben & Miles as Spider-Man has been bumpy. Steve -> Sam as Cap too. I think Terry as Batman is the only one everyone liked. Idk why though.

Completely agree. Do I like the dcau? Less than most cuz of hal Jordan erasure. And hawkman mischaracterization. Amongst many flanderizing. But that show made JL stories that didnt centre's around the world ending. They can be interpersonal too. Mcu reboot should do tht.
