RT if you agree that preventing mother pigs from even being able to TURN AROUND because of the size of metal crates they're kept in is CRUEL and needs to be outlawed globally. 😡

Not only are both Phil Spencer and his Co-host Kirstie Allsopp insufferable, they both love fox hunting.
Allsopp is a frequent host of the East Devon Hunt at her husband's estate 'The Grange' in Broadhembury, Honiton.
Clearly in the wrong #locationlocationlocation tv presenter hunt supporter #PhilSpencer turned up today in Cheriton Wood at the Hampshire Hunts meet. He clearly didn’t want to be filmed as left in the boot of another car while they drove his Land Rover! 🤦🏻♂️#trailhunting 🦊

We’ve been here before, bit before the time of perhaps a lot of people - in the 1980s Britain had an outbreak of Mad Cow Disease - it caused enormous harm and losses, we saw whole herds of cows killed and burned on bonfires, and of course it was disastrous for anyone that caught it.
Agriculture minister at the time, John Gummer, went on live TV feeding his daughter a burger to assure us all that beef was safe. Which it clearly wasn’t.
The cause of this Mad Cow Disease - feeding un natural foods to cows, bones and flesh of other cows and sheep. Who knew that awfully un natural thing to do - would bite us back.
Now the Salmon industry want to repeat the experiment - by feeding chicken remnants to Salmon - will we end up with Mad Fish Disease. Part of me hopes so - is that bad to say?
The Salmon industry does such enormous harm, to the environment, to wildlife and to captive fish life - I can’t help but see the upside of some serious self harm.
Obvs I don’t want people to catch diseases….

There is a mountain of unworn clothes in the driest desert on earth, large enough to be photographed from space. It grows by 39,000 tons a year and almost none of it will ever rot.
The Atacama, in northern Chile, is a place where it may not rain for a decade. On its edge is a duty-free port called Iquique. Every year about 59,000 tons of clothing arrives there from Europe, America and Asia. It is last season's stock that never sold, and the bags people leave at charity shops.
Dealers pick through it for anything they can resell across South America. Two thirds of it is worthless. Nobody will pay to ship it back out, so lorries drive it into the desert at night and tip it.
The local landfill refuses to take it. The reason given is that the clothing does not biodegrade and is full of chemicals. Most of it is polyester, which is plastic, and in a place with no rain and no soil life it will lie there for centuries. Some of it is set alight, and the smoke drifts over a town of 100,000 people.
In 2025 a Chilean court ruled that the dumps had done serious damage to the land.
For most of history this could not have happened. Clothes were wool, linen and leather. They were worn out, handed down and patched, and at the very end a rag merchant paid for the scraps. In Yorkshire, from 1813, old woollens were shredded and spun into new cloth. Anything left went on the fields, where wool breaks down in months and feeds the grass.
Nobody ever had to find a desert for worn-out wool. We invented a fabric that cannot die, and then we started making it to be thrown away.

Incredibly big and clear drop in online support for Reform, after Russian data centres destroyed. Only one conclusion, Reform have support from Russia whether they know it or not.

Here they are again - Octopus banging on about the cost of turning some windmills off some of the time - while the grid gets built.
This is a glass half full whinge - we get 95% of the benefit of our wind energy - once the grid is completed it will be 100%. Oh and a report out today shows that our wind and sun generators saved the nation £6 billion since February, against higher costs from the war in the Middle East.
Why does Octopus not acknowledge this in their constant whining about wind constraint costs. And if value for public money really is their concern - why do they support the £3 Billion heat pump subsidy….? Could it be that they stand to gain £500 million from that. And they lobbied for it, hard.
FOI tells the tale.

Be warned if you’re walking the South West Coast Path you could come across armed men with a mutilated deer. A runner came across this horrifying scene on Saturday. Three men lounging on the footpath with a butchered stag stuffed in a rucksack swinging the severed head around.

Was just explaining this to someone at Labour’s conference - Crown Estate owns the coast and seabed and charges for the use of it for green energy projects - pushing up energy bills. It’s one of several hidden drivers of energy bills - making them higher than we need.

Britain’s banks are super successful at making money. That makes them a target every now and then for a windfall tax. But their success is built on subsidies, massive taxpayer subsidies running to the tune of £30billion a year, paid by the Bank of England - as interest on their cash piles.
This interest payment serves no purpose - it simply enriches the already rather rich. So rather than agonise over a windfall tax, the last one raised a handful of billions by the way - the better way is to stop fuelling their already huge profits with our taxpayer subsidy.
This is probably the easiest reform we can make.
The EU has already done it - if we end banking subsides, we save £30billion a year. We can use that cash for things that can help people and grow the economy - like restoring the personal allowance for income tax.

This fox died as a result of a catapult attack. She was otherwise healthy, thriving, and part of a family. Our government needs to bring in tougher laws to prevent this animal abuse!

Profits up, housebuilding down - that’s the story here, the stranglehold of the big builders on our housing market continues. Barratt just made one third of a Trillion pounds but still calls market conditions tough and calls for government aid….seriously. They blame weak demand for slow progress, at around 300k per home - the price is the reason. We need lower cost homes and more of them, private companies want the opposite - we need to reform our housing market. Tax land banks and begin a state sponsored national build program - starting on Brownfield land where 1.4m homes are possible - half of which already have planning permission.
