The limitations are significant. An as-treated analysis with a large imbalance in study dropout creates high potential for bias. Remember that in a fixed cohort of dialysis patents, the rate of hospitalization increases with elapsing time, because each live discharge increases the hazard of the next admission. The win odds approach is really not that important to this story.

⏩taking place now @kidneybiz presenting I CAN trial, sim publication in @NEJM ⚠️Ravulizumab treatment significantly decreased proteinuria compared with placebo at week 34 with rapid reduction as early as week 10 #kidneywk
Presented at #KidneyWk: An interim analysis of a phase 3 randomized trial involving adults with IgA nephropathy showed that ravulizumab, a terminal complement inhibitor, led to a significantly greater reduction in proteinuria than placebo. Full I CAN trial results: nej.md/4iwTFdS @ASNKidney

Important basic question. Amazing that in 2026 we still don't know which BP treat and what target to aim for to meaningfully change outcomes.
▶️ next into #KidneyWk HOME-BP trial Pre-dialysis BP has a confusing U-shaped association with mortality. Home BP may offer a better treatment target 🔀A crossover RCT comparing home versus pre-dialysis BP-guided treatment in 200 hemodialysis patients. Each strategy was tested for 5 months, with treatment adjusted every 2 weeks 🎯Primary outcome: Rate of intradialytic hypotension

Next to #kidneywk RENEW-HD trial Could hemodialysis become portable? 📍According to the presenter, neokidney is a 13-kg dialysis device that fits in carry-on luggage 📍It uses a sorbent cartridge to continuously regenerate dialysate, requiring only ~4.5 L of fluid per treatment and no dedicated water infrastructure 📍RENEW-HD is a multicenter, single-arm trial assessing dialysis adequacy and safety. The first two stages included 29 patients and 514 supervised dialysis sessions.
