I wrote a book…or a guide…whatever you want to call it.
It’s everything I know and believe about putting yourself in the best position to get recruited to play college baseball.
Building your school list. Creating your video. Reaching out to coaches. Following up. Having an actual plan.
Here it is: it's FREE

Just remember: no tool, guide, or advisor will ever replace getting really damn good at baseball.
Be an “AND” player. Not a “BUT” player.
“He’s really talented, BUT he doesn’t work very hard.”
“He’s a great athlete, BUT he’s not a great teammate.”
“He can really play, BUT he makes bad decisions off the field.”
“He’s got a ton of potential, BUT he’s not very coachable.”
Now imagine being the AND player.
“He’s really talented AND he works his tail off.”
“He’s a great athlete AND an even better teammate.”
“He can really play AND he makes great decisions off the field.”
“He’s got a ton of potential AND he’s willing to do whatever it takes to reach it.”
Talent might get you noticed.
But all the things that come after the AND are what make coaches want you in their program.

Fellas,
A college coach just followed you on X.
Most athletes follow back, feel good about it, and wait. The window closes. The coach moves on to the next athlete.
Here's what to do instead, right now, while the coach still has you on his mind.
DM him immediately and say this word for word:
"Coach Smith, thank you for the follow. I'm very interested in your program. Have you had a chance to watch my highlight video? [link to highlight video]"
That's the whole message. Four sentences and a link.
One of two things happens next. If he hasn't watched the tape, he will. If he has, your athlete just opened the door to the coach's feedback and the next step.
A follow is not a recruiting move. A follow-back is not a recruiting move. The DM is the recruiting move.
While other athletes collect coach follows like trophies, your athlete just turned his into a coach watching his film within 24 hours of finding him.
You’re welcome.

In 1997, I had 25+ D1 offers coming out of JUCO. One D3 coach called me every Friday until I decided. He helped me through the process. Nearly 30 years later, we’re still friends.
My point? Return EVERY coach’s call. Respect everyone. You’re never too big for anybody.

Families that say they want development and not just another showcase or tournament - We have the best option for you. Shoot me a DM to learn more
This is the final week to get registered for the @gyardbaseball @gyardlegacy Call-Up Experience at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
We give college baseball programs WAY too much credit for developing players.
And probably way too much blame when players don’t develop.
Here’s a thought.
Every program in the country is great at player development if you’re willing to put in the work.
And every program in the country is terrible at it if you’re not.
Coaches can provide the plan, tools, resources, and direction.
But the actual development happens when the player takes ownership of the process and consistently executes.
At some point, we have to stop asking which programs develop players and start asking which players are committed to developing themselves.
My mission is pretty simple.
Make Cedarburg baseball as good as it can possibly be.
Create opportunities for kids to develop, compete, and achieve whatever their version of success is.
Whatever it is, I want to help them get there.
That’s it. That’s the mission.
A school's interest in you doesn’t obligate you to go there.
But if your first reaction is, “I’m better than that level,” I’d encourage you to learn more before dismissing it.
Watch them play.
Look at the roster.
Talk to the coach.
Visit.
You might still decide it isn’t for you.
At least make that decision with some information.

Over 5 weeks, we’ll build a complete recruiting plan and process designed to get you in front of the RIGHT schools for evaluation next spring and summer.
Last year, I worked with 6 players on their recruiting.
4 have committed.
The other 2 are each deciding between 3 offers.
There’s no magic formula. No shortcuts.
But there IS a process that works if you’re willing to put in the effort.

The only reason I got an opportunity to play college baseball was because a pro scout happened to be at one of my high school games.
He was there because his buddy coached the other team.
That was my recruiting strategy.
Someone happened to be somewhere.
I got lucky.
I’m trying to help families build a process that doesn’t require that kind of luck.

Watching this World Series is a baseball coach’s dream.
Two-strike approaches. Two-out hitting. Cuts and relays. Baserunning. Situational baseball.
EVERYTHING we preach all year is on display.
I can practically hear my players’ eyes rolling when I bring up this series for the 37th time next season.
It’s gonna be awesome.
