JUST IN: The US still has an inflation problem and it's getting worse again.
PCE Inflation rose to 3.6% in September. That's the highest since May.
Core PCE Inflation (excludes food and energy) ticked up to 3.1%. That's also the highest since May.
Bottom line: Inflation is back near a 3-year high. It's largely due to war in Iran, but there's legitimate concern that inflation is spreading beyond energy.
All three of these districts changed a lot in the redistricting this year
This p.m. & early evening @GovRonDeSantis held 3 tele townhalls with candidates seeking to win districts reshaped by mid-decade redistricting. He touted @MBeltranFL @CaseyAskar & @DanGreenFL - candidates in CD 14, 22 and 9. DeSantis also urged those on calls to back Amendment 3

This is the @RonDeSantis creation of "Florida's anthem," separate from the "State Anthem" in FL Statute 15.0326: "The song 'Florida, Where the Sawgrass Meets the Sky,' music and lyrics written by Jan Hinton, is designated as the official anthem of the State of Florida."
@GovRonDeSantis does "encourage" incoming Legislature to codify his order
Today I issued an Executive Order designating “Seminole Wind” by John Anderson as the official anthem of Florida.
I have also directed the @FLSecofState to erect historic markers in the City of Apopka depicting John Anderson’s contribution to Florida’s heritage.
In addition, I have tasked @FLDEPNews to work with the @SJRWMD to designate wildlife drive and trail system within Lake Apopka North Shore as the John Anderson Wildlife Drive and Trail System.
One interesting tidbit from @ByronDonalds' campaign event in Tallahassee today: He's going to vote against Amendment 1, the bid to expand a budget reserve fund.

Fun fact: When New Jersey legalized sports betting in 2012, it was the pro leagues—including the NBA—that sued to stop it. Chris Christie told me NBA commissioner David Stern cornered him at an event and shouted at him: "We're going to come after you with everything we've got."
The NBA has reached deals with Kalshi and Polymarket to make them the league's preferred prediction markets partners. The companies can now use NBA IP on their platforms, while the NBA gets right of approval on markets that they offer. That and more:

“You missed bitches.” DeSantis handed Trump a coin with that message. Coin shows Trump flashing middle finger.
FWIW, the current Florida state song is "Old Folks at Home" (the ah, revised lyrics version) and the state anthem is "Florida, Where the Sawgrass Meets the Sky"
It would take an act of the Legislature to change this.

. @RonDeSantis should consider making "Seminole Wind" the official state song of Florida. John Anderson captured the spirit of this state in his song, and was a native born Floridian. Gov DeSantis, would you consider making that happen? A bunch of us would fly down if you would.

Look at these numbers for lobbying in the last quarter, via Politico influence. Brian Ballard’s firm is at $35 million for the quarter, almost doubling anyone else in Washington.

Imagine a rogue AI agent liquidating your bank account and investment portfolio.
If you are the only victim, I suppose you could get made whole by the AI company responsible.
If rogue agents liquidate hundreds of billions across millions of accounts, the AI company would go bankrupt and you wouldn’t get made whole.
Imposing criminal liability on AI executives might help mitigate it at the front end, but once the crime is complete and you lose everything criminal responsibility will be necessary but completely insufficient.
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.
The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.
Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.
Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.
