Luckhurst is a toad. He knows what he’s doing. Players don’t turn up for training and sprint from minute 1. This is a warm up.

I do think that English football has always been built on physicality. The natural evolution of this has taken us to a point where the league is now made up of strong athletes who run for days. And possibly at the expense of some flair, individuality and entertainment.
this league is shite and it’s time we stopped pretending it’s the best in the world. not because arsenal won, they deserved to win, but because the actual standard of football is dreadful. most of the top teams either play horrible football or look completely braindead tactically. brighton, brentford, villa & bournemouth are genuinely the only sides keeping the idea of good football alive in this league

Martinez going after Wilcox was laughable. Because perhaps if Wilcox and go had done their job properly, they’d have bounced his useless ass out of the club. Carrick has done a lot a wrong this season, but some players have let him down so badly.

This is deeply embarrassing. We live in a time of constant insufferable opinion, much of which is exists purely for engagement. As individuals we should be doing better to understand this and not let it bother us, let alone the actual football clubs themselves.
Aston Villa will initiate legal action against Jamie Carragher for his unacceptable insults about the Club and its fans. Aston Villa will not allow anyone to stop our ascension in English and European football. Nassef Sawiris, Chairman

We all knew. We all fucking knew. Same with Shaw. We knew. The funds are tight, we accept that. But you couldn’t bring in anyone???

United are currently miles off it. But at the same time, but even with their waning power and financial muscle are still one right place, right time manager away from competing.
To even begin to suggest that Man Utd might be more likely to win the UCL in the next 5-10 years than Villa is crazy. Neither have much of a chance, obviously, so @Carra23 may be right about Emery eventually wanting that 'bigger' club, but that's not Man Utd

Carrick will join the scrap heap of post-Fergie managers to give it a go and end up sacked. Time has shown him to be out his depth, but ultimately it’s not all his fault. The reality is the club will never be a force again all the time the ownership is what it is.

X - a place where people attempt to sound intelligent about the dumbest shit imaginable.
I believe most people underestimate technology like this because they have non-creative minds. @Tesla doesn’t seem like real life at first because… First-order thinking: "We don't need rockets on a car." Second-order thinking: boost out of a crash before it happens. Multi-level highways without building onramps, boost to lvl 2/3/4. Park outside your window in an apartment block. Literally even just rocket jet some loser trying kidnap your family members. So many use cases it's insane. We live in the greatest timeline to experience tech like this. What's the first thing you'd use it for?

Martinez is not wrong in that the board should have acted better in the window. However, it does not excuse the players we do have (Martinez himself very much so) from being utterly shit in the games we’ve had so far.
Lisandro Martínez did NOT hold back after United's loss to Atletico 😬👀

soon you will all realise that man city are freedom fighters

The best explanation. Yes, City are an excellently run club (particular vs our disaster), but they’ve also been able to gloss over any mistake. The way they’ve been able to just discard the players that haven’t worked with barely any hit to the club. That’s the difference.
You signed Trafford, then Donnuruma. Savio, then Ndiaye and Semenyo. Bravo, then Ederson. Phillips and Reinjders, then Anderson. All players who weren’t good enough, then replaced with money from inflated sponsorship. You don’t spend it better, you just cheated.

Important to remember that whilst watching all these happy City players celebrate. Every single one of them will have spoken to their agents about summer moves the last few weeks.

This is an adorable video. But I’ve never really understood why people want to meet the trophy? Surely she’d rather meet like… Haaland or someone?
Wow, what a club 🩵 @ManCity

Absolutely superb thread. I’ve said many times, the PL is drunk with money. We live in a world where only a handful of European clubs can outbid Bournemouth for a player. It is insane the position it’s gotten to.
The logic that the Premier League should let the market rip -- owners spending what they want! no cost controls! get rid of red tape! -- is disingenuous in lots of ways. But it also forgets that the hated red cartel have advantages they don't use, too. observer.co.uk/news/sport/ar…

People don’t like this guy because he’s insanely talented and in 9/10 cases, younger than the poster. ‘He doesn’t play with feeling’ ‘Give me Eric Clapton any day’ ‘It sounds terrible’ Come on lads.
Tim Henson. “Playing God.” Unplugged. No amp. No effects hiding the hands. Just nylon, thumb, and a part that most players still can’t clean up with a metronome. Last time this clip went up, the room split. Half called it the future of guitar. Half said it was flamenco with a workout plan and no song underneath. Michael Hedges got the same argument. So did Vai. So did Eddie, until the records settled it. So which is it with Tim? A new language, or a very expensive exercise?

Another player who is shocked. Probably thought nothing of half his salary coming from those 4 hours of consultancy he did with the Abu Dhabi under 15s football team.
🚨🎙️ Vincent Kompany on the Manchester City situation: “Honestly, I’m speechless. I don’t even know what to say because, deep down, I never imagined I would see Manchester City in a situation like this. When I was playing for this club, I saw first-hand the work, the sacrifices, the dedication and everything that went into building what Manchester City became. That is why this news is extremely difficult for me to take in. My heart goes out to the fans because I know how much this club means to them. I can only imagine what they are feeling right now. This is not the kind of news any of us expected, and I understand the disappointment, the fear and the uncertainty that many supporters are going through. But please, stay calm. I know that’s easier said than done, but we have to believe that there is still a process to go through. The appeal is there, and I sincerely hope it brings positive news and gives every Manchester City supporter something to smile about again. For now, I think we have to be patient, stay united and wait to hear from the club and its owners. We have been through difficult moments before, and football can change very quickly. So to every City fan feeling hurt right now: don’t lose hope. Let’s wait for the appeal, let’s wait for the final outcome, and let’s continue to stand together. 💙 Keep believing. Keep supporting. Manchester City will always be Manchester City.” 🔵⚪️

Going to be fascinating to see what happens to all these UAE based accounts if the owners are forced to sell up.
Sheikh Mansour’s impact on Britain and Manchester goes far beyond football: 🏦 Helped rescue Barclays during the financial crisis 🏠 Thousands of new homes in Manchester 🏗️ Major regeneration of East Manchester 🎵 Helped deliver the £365M Co-op Live arena 🏨 New hotels and commercial developments 👷 Thousands of jobs created 🏆 Bought City’s first FA Cup trophy and donated it to the National Football Museum ⚽ Transformed #ManCity into a global football powerhouse A legacy far bigger than football. 🩵

It’s the kind of article that should provoke some introspection from some City fans about exactly where the line is in their defiant defence of their owners. Owners who will one day depart and leave a legacy of corruption behind. Yet in the replies? Just doubling down. Grim.
I spent years exposing Man City's cheating while their plutocratic regime believed they could get away with it all. While my wife lay dying, these are the threats, ugly tactics and intimidation the club and their fans used against me, writes NICK HARRIS trib.al/wPeFRFL

Of winning football’s equivalent of ‘the lottery’ Fans seem to think there’s a long list of billionaires just desperate to buy football clubs and sink endless money into them. There isn’t.
Now I've thought about it, we all need to thank Manchester City. Without their 6 titles in 7 years, we might have been subjected to the boredom of just a handful of different PL champions. Now the smaller clubs can dream
