At Hui ā Motu, in Jan, Kiingi Tūheitia said these great words: “The best protest we can do right now is be Maaori. Be who we are, live our values, speak our reo, care for our mokopuna, our awa, our maunga, just be Maaori. Maaori all day, every day. We are here, we are strong.”

Have made a small donation today in acknowledgement of @efesocollins and the charity he was supporting. If you’re in a position to help, I’m sure @ChildFundNZ would appreciate it for such a worthy cause.

Our thoughts are with our Turkish friends in Çanakkale who are affected by wildfires. This area near the Gallipoli Peninsula is a special place for many Kiwis and NZDF personnel. Kia kaha 🖤

Angitū were amazing to watch during @TeMatatini. Their korero to rangatahi is especially important 👏🏼
Two members of Angitū seamlessly performed both male and female kapa haka lines. Angitū breaking gender norms on the kapa haka stage at Te Matatini. 👉 For more Te Matatini stories: 1news.co.nz/

I’m in awe of the courage and commitment of our Defence Force. They, and other first responders, are doing such amazing mahi 💛🖤
Almost a week into #CycloneGabrielle’s impact, we continue to commit more resources by mobilising & establishing ships, aircraft, vehicles, communications equipment & personnel across the North Island. We now have more than 900 personnel deployed. bit.ly/3XGuNmb
