What do we have so little data on student homelessness. And very little causal evidence of what works to prevent it? My thoughts: wonkhe.com/blogs/universitie…
I've written about how the regional and local press can lead the way in changing the narrative around homelessness: holdthefrontpage.co.uk/2026/…
Grateful to join an @insidehousing round table with leaders in London to discuss record numbers of households in temporary accommodation.
I spoke about spiralling cost, poor outcomes, especially for families, and the need to shift to prevention.

Thanks to @paullewismoney and the team for having me on @Moneybox on @BBCRadio4 to talk about our latest @homelessimpact report on how debt - chiefly arrears in rent, council tax and utility bills - has become a structural driver of homelessness👇
bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002tp…
This report, by academics at @PFRC_uk at @BristolUni, shows how problem debt is a key mechanism through which structural pressures become housing crises. The fundamental point is, we can prevent this - with smarter early intervention and resolution, not automatic enforcement

Very exciting that the Scottish Government cited research published by @homelessimpact when announcing its introduction of Care Leaver Payments from next month 🚀
Should improve prospects for thousands of young people leaving local authority care in Scottish in coking years
Q: What happens when you give £2,000 - with no strings attached - to young people leaving local authority care?
A: More stay in stable housing, fewer 'sofa surf', more engage with preventative health care, fewer go to A&E, more report improved well being
