I'd rather hear how someone held their boundaries at work than hearing how someone hustle grinds only to eventually burn themselves out. #HR

Most resumes I read are just centered around their roles & responsibilities. That's not really the way to do it. Show the reader what you actually did there. What did you actually accomplish? Focus on that.

I just closed 10 tabs on my work computer, and, all I'm saying is I feel like a new person.

The things that your employees are afraid to tell you about you will make you a better leader if you have the courage to hear them.

Friendly reminder to all my #HR friends to use that PTO that you encourage everyone else to use and get some fresh bait and relax. Today I'm doing just that at the Grand Canyon.

Got a great view of the moon coming over the mountain a few nights ago. As usual, the pictures didn't do it justice. I love Tucson.

Talking with people in my team today about the rising cost of housing, education, etc. Someone says "yeah, maybe I should have joined the military for those education benefits" Me, looking back at high school aged Greg:

These communities (disabled, POC, older workers) have been disproportionately affected by screenings and AI since forever. Unfortunately, this isn't new, just a new system doing it. And during the pandemic of all times. Train your people and take AI with a grain of salt.

Found out my professional love language is sales reps that have an opt out link in their signature block.

If you want a picture as to why employees don't trust you when you give them the "like a family" line. The CEO who signed the letter can help pay their bills, offer more PTO, or help with their income in some way. That's what a "family" would do.

So true. If you're not used to it by interview 3 your critical thinking and observations will decline. Give yourself some space to process and give the interviewees respect of their time and your full attention when they interview.
If you're a first time hiring manager, please don't treat the interview process like a marathon. 10 in a day might work for a recruiter bc they've done that pace before. Your energy will suffer and so will the candidates after your 5th interview or so.

I just clicked something on my work computer and it prompted me to change my input language. I think it's time for me to set my OOO and call it a year.

For anyone curious, if you're given the opportunity to do open enrollment, hr software implementation, commercial insurance renewal and a holiday party all in the same week... Don't.

And if you have whys from your experience, that would be wonderful! ☺️
Woe to the HR people that are explaining to managers what cultural appropriation is today.
