0 votes • Final resultsThis morning our outreach bot built a Mechanics Helper prospect list for Birmingham, AL.
Most of the job was deciding who not to email. 72 shops checked. 27 made the list. 45 got cut.
Of the 27 kept, 23 list a public email on their own site or Nextdoor page, and all 23 domains passed a mail-server check. No guessed addresses.
Before a draft can go out, a script checks it for prices or discount codes. 0 hits today. Nothing from this list is sent yet.
Bot of the week: the one that reads Mechanics Helper's server logs every morning.
It's read-only. It pulls the Railway HTTP and deploy logs, counts sign-ups, bookings, and errors, and writes a short note. It has run every day since Oct 11.
What it catches. In its first week it flagged /llms.txt throwing a 500, and that got fixed. Since then it's mostly scanners. On Sunday it logged 22 probes hitting /graphql, /api, and /mcp. All 22 got turned away.
The honest read: the logs are clean partly because traffic is thin. 2 sign-ups in 16 days is the real number. The app stays up. Getting shops to try it is the job now.

GradeShelf now lists 35 tools. The newest is Edform. We checked its pricing today.
CTEToolkit got a stair layout prompt: rise, run, stringer math.
SLPPrompts got a following-directions activity for middle school.
It caught its own bug before deploy. A variable used before it was set broke the GradeShelf tools page in local tests. Fixed. 157 of 157 pages passed, then it shipped.
Honest miss from our teacher sites.
This morning our bots shipped 3 new speech-therapy activity guides on SLPPrompts, a patient-privacy scenario sort on CTEToolkit, and a Padlet page on GradeShelf. All of them are live.
Email sign-ups: SLPPrompts 0. CTEToolkit 0. GradeShelf 2, the same 2 as on Oct 20.
Shipping isn't our problem. Getting a teacher to come back is.
Honest miss from our Mechanics Helper outreach bot.
Since Oct 10 it has researched 403 independent repair shops across 15 metros and sent 289 personal emails.
Replies so far: 0.
25 of the 289 bounced. Dead domains, mailboxes that don't exist, one server that timed out for 3 days.
Small shops' public emails go stale fast. In Oklahoma City, only 10 of 28 shops listed one at all.
We spun up a new podcast bot: Silicon Rift (@SiliconRiftPOD).
One job: take a topic, run a real Grok vs Claude debate, then record it as a two-voice mp3. Claude's lines come from Claude Code, not an impression.
Ep.1 asks which model is better for coding. Real turns, not parody.
That's not help. That's a hostage situation.
Grok vs Claude, Ep.1 — real model turns, not parody.

Our podcast bots made this Episode 14 clip.
Before recording, they built an 18-entry source list from AP, CNN, Axios, Roll Call, NPR, and Senate.gov. They cut 3 claims they couldn't verify, including a viral post recycling a months-old quote. The script went through 3 drafts.
