If I had to start a gym today… I wouldn’t open one. I wouldn’t go running to buy machines or look for space. I would start by getting customers first and validating gym business for my area without spending a single dollar. Here are the 5 steps that I would exactly follow:

Step 5: Would call up the generated leads through the ad to verify and understand their use cases. Would A/B test the price with them: pitch them about the program and how it is different

If at least 20 people show interest out of 100 leads generated, Then I would go for figuring out the - supply part and the logistics on- how to set up the gym, machines, and the space. This mindset shift took me 2 years to build. Hope this post helps you to cultivate it faster.

Hey Jared I am Swati, We just launched tryslate.live after building it in vibecon. We already got 300+ signups on the website in 1 day of launch and people love the site. We have been building in the domain for around a year now Other products include: thita.ai - launched 6 months back, 25k users Also open sourced github.com/repowise-dev/repo… (codebase intelligence for AI agent harnesses) got 1.2k stars in a week, ran SWE QA benchmark with Claude code and it showed 36% cost reduction, 50% faster compared to bare Claude. The entire benchmark is open sourced as well Would love to chat with you for few mins. We are in the startup school today
