A $3000 / month Growth Assistant added $5M ARR for us in 2024. You won’t believe how simple it is till you see it: We created a big audience on X and LI over the last 2 years. In 2024, we started monetizing it for growth. Just three steps: - Track engagement from ICP leads on LinkedIn - Post about things they’re interested in - Message them when they signal getting value from your content consistently Repost + comment “GrowthAssistant” to download the full guide.

Adriane and I built GrowthAssistant into a $20M business over 4 years. If it all disappeared tomorrow, here’s exactly how I’d do it to reach 8-figures in 18 months: 1. Sell before I build First, some context: GrowthAssistant places elite marketing talent from the Philippines in top US companies. I would not interview a single candidate before I started selling. Instead: ↳ I’d reach out to every marketing director in my network ↳ Try to sell 1 role in the first month 1. Ecosystem marketing After we had 5 clients from my network, I’d get to work building an audience: ↳ Write guides based on my growth marketing experience. ↳ Share the guides as lead magnets on LinkedIn / X to grow a newsletter. ↳ Use the newsletter to highlight talent available to hire on my platform. 1. Hire a GA My Growth Assistant would: ↳ Scan my newsletter readers for prospects I could pitch ↳ Handle inbound, connections, and follow-ups ↳ Manage content calendar, drafting posts, and running engagement Global talent is a force multiplier. 1. Expand the playbook (and first US hire} The No. 1 sign of PMF for a b2b business is net dollar retention. That is, are existing clients buying more over time or less? Once I have $1M of ARR, I’d hire a US-based Account Manager to: ↳ Fly out to meet ALL clients and start building personal relationships. ↳ Start building account research and expansion playbooks. 5. Start with AI AI today feels like Facebook Ads when I was starting Ampush in 2010. I would integrate it into every part of a new biz: ↳ Every role, playbook, and process at GA would be AI-first. ↳ Train all our talent in AI systems for their role before placement. You only need 3 things to get to $10M+ ARR: • A problem you can solve. • Tailwinds (like AI) you can use to your advantage. • Global talent to multiply leverage. We just placed 5 digital marketing Growth Assistants to work for a top marketing agency. They will run ads, content, and analytics for a fraction of the cost of US FTEs. In 4 years, we’ve placed 1000+ Growth Assistants with brands like DoorDash, Spotify, Reddit, and hundreds of others. Sign up to start hiring: tinyurl.com/mk67yrj8

I know a CMO who manages $50M of ad spend. Everyone thinks he’s a genius, but he has four offshore assistants who do the work: This is a VC-backed e-commerce company with 100+ SKUs. Their CMO was a client at Jesse’s first company, Ampush. When this person got his big job, we got a call. ”I need the type of people they had at Ampush. My small team is drowning in work.” We embedded a team of Growth Assistants that do: 1. Daily Tracking - Jay pulls 39 campaigns and data from Meta, Shopify, TikTok, Google etc into a Google Sheet every morning - CAC, spend, ROAS - This data goes into a live dashboard of all campaigns with screenshots, and he flags anomalies on Slack. My CMO friend just goes to Slack, sees the snapshots, and immediately knows what to action. 2. Performance-based optimization - Daisy watches spending on EVERY campaign, and monitors spending to make sure acquisition costs are under control and they don’t hit spending caps. - 3 green days = scale up (recently bumped one campaign from $1.6K to $6K) - All changes logged with "Why/What/Impact" documentation This is crucial for spending effectively. 3. Design - Media buyers leave design reqs for creative and decks at EOD. - They come back the next morning to finished work, with the design assistant available for last-minute edits. Gives back hours in their day. 4. Scaling systems - Google: Rebuilt from catch-all to 39 themed campaigns - Meta: Launched 20 brand campaigns in 24 hours - Competitive research feeding creative pipeline Shopify, Reddit, DoorDash, and 200 other companies use Growth Assistants to scale. A 21-year-old asked for my best career advice. My answer: learn to manage up. Most people suck at managing up. They say too much or too little. 8 ways to manage up like a pro: Set the stage. Executives are busy. Start every email or meeting with 60 seconds of context: ↳ "What are we talking about?" ↳ "Why is this important?" ↳ "Where did we leave off?" Value their time 10x more than yours. This will make you disciplined about: ↳ Follow-ups ↳ Action items ↳ Clear, concise communication Use FYI and NNTR. Not every message needs a response or action. ↳ Example: "FYI, the dashboard is updated as you requested. No need to reply." Understand the hierarchy of communication. Some modes are better for urgency: ↳ Most Urgent: Phone ↳ Less Urgent: Text, Slack ↳ Async: Email (with "Request" in subject and a clear deadline) You still own the monkey. If you ask your boss for something, it’s still your job to ensure it’s done. Escalate as needed until it’s complete. Always follow up. After meetings, send a quick summary with action items. ↳ Specify: WHO will do WHAT by WHEN. Regular reporting. Create a system for progress updates. Make them: ↳ Regular ↳ Quantitative ↳ Data-driven Seek feedback. Ask: "Do my updates make it easy for you to see progress? What can I do to make it a 10/10?" At GrowthAssistant, we teach all our assistants to manage up to execs. That’s why 500+ Growth Assistants work for marketing teams like DoorDash, HubSpot, Shopify, and 100+ others. A publicly traded company lost $2M in a day because someone fat-fingered a promo. I told the devastated CMO how to avoid it: These problems are common in big, fast-growing companies with many business segments. Campaigns start flying and errors slip through. But it’s not a QA issue. When multiple departments run multiple campaigns, you need a team to own the whole lifecycle for the customer. I told the Josh how we did it for DoorDash: When DoorDash became a customer of Growth Assistant (my marketing solutions brand that places global talent w top US companies), they had a similar problem. A team of 22 lifecycle marketers manages customer journeys - and yes also QAs EACH asset that goes out using a systemized SOP. When he heard this, Josh hired us create that at his company. We embedded a team of 12 Growth Assistants to run our SOP. In 6 weeks, - QA Asset loads dropped from 100 to 22 per head - Error rates went to near-zero - Retention campaigns boosted LTV 12 people is overkill for most companies, but he needed it because they run a massive business with several segments. Most growing brands can operate with 1 or 2. If you want to know more about how this works (or stop f*cking up), call us: Book a meeting with my team at GrowthAssistant. tinyurl.com/a89aw98j

Today, my company GrowthAssistant crossed $20M in ARR. The journey to building this company with @jspujji started in middle school. Jesse and I became best friends in middle school. After college, Jesse went to Wall Street and then built Ampush. I became a trader in Chicago, and then pivoted to recruiting. Over 9 years, I built a department that recruited the smartest kids from MIT, Harvard, and more to trade for a billion-dollar hedge fund. After that, I switched roles and spent 7 years growing DRW’s real estate portfolio. I started feeling restless again… and I remembered how much I LOVED recruitment/HR. So in 2020, I quit. One month later, the world was locked down, and my 401k tanked. I was scared sh*tless. Jesse had just exited Ampush and was kicking around an idea for an offshore talent startup. We talked about my experience in HR, and he realized right away that we needed to work together. Despite the fear, I said yes. The idea was simple: we’d embed trained, educated global talent into top US teams in marketing, design, finance, data, and more. Within 30 days, we had our first sale and started onboarding clients to our waitlist. DoorDash, Varsity Tutors, quip - the logos came flooding in. Then Jesse’s thread about GA on Twitter exploded. We had 400 leads overnight. Over 4 years, we’ve placed 1000+ Growth Assistants for the biggest brands in the world. Today, HubSpot, Reddit, Shopify, and 200 others are clients. Designers, analysts, paid ads specialists, SEO pros, and now AI-enabled assistants: we find you the best talent in the world for $3k / month. Start growing with lower costs: tinyurl.com/mpbkpkzs

One of our clients lost $2M in a day. Because someone fat-fingered a promo to the wrong audience. Their CMO told me that the business scaled so fast, execution quality couldn’t keep up. Campaigns were flying, and mistakes slipped through. Fast-growing teams—especially fintech and e-comm—kept hitting the same wall: 1. Campaign volume exploding 2. QA is an afterthought 3. Retention teams spread thin across disconnected touch-points This happens because most marketing orgs are built around channels, not customers. The best companies solved this with a new kind of role: the Lifecycle Marketer. Someone who thinks in journeys, not just sends. And who can spot the cracks before the customer feels them? So we started embedding lifecycle marketing assistants on client teams, and armed them with playbooks that made an immediate impact: - Asset loads drop from 100 to 22 per head - Error rates go to near-zero - Retention campaigns that boosted LTV Not everyone needs more content. But every brand scaling fast needs one person asking: “Where does the customer go next?” The best brands in the world (Perplexity, Shopify, DoorDash, Calm, and 150 others) use Growth Assistants to hire elite marketing talent for < $3k / month. For lifecycle marketing, paid mktg, design, data, and dozens of other roles. Stop making errors: tinyurl.com/mt7yuu2y

I spent 20 years studying leadership: from McKinsey, billionaires, partners, and hundreds of top executives. I summed it up into 5 leadership principles I teach everywhere I go: 1. Bias to Action Ric Elias’s company, Red Ventures, invested in my first business. At our board meeting, we spent 90 minutes discussing pricing and how to change it for new customers. Ric said to me, “Just raise the price 50%. See what happens and learn from it.” That comment became a guiding philosophy. Very few things can compete with the velocity of trying things. 2. Everything is written in pencil In our first quarterly plan, we forecasted 30 meetings for GrowthAssistant coming from referrals. Hired a salesperson to work the pipelines. But when a Twitter post blew up and got me 400 leads, we did a COMPLETE 180: Over the next year, I spent an hour every day writing on Twitter and built a $10M business. 3. Create a user guide When Ampush started growing past 30 people, I realized: new team members didn't understand how to work with me. So I wrote a guide: laid out methods of comms, how to measure progress, run meetings, and use me as a resource Easiest way to reduce friction on your team. 4. 90% of leadership is just effective delegation. Use the leadership ladder: Based on how competent a person is at a given task, give them degrees of freedom and control. For example, a junior content marketer knows more than a VP about ad copy, but should probably not be trusted to make leadership hires. Putting the right players in the right positions is 90% of a leader’s job. 1. Default To Trust Micromanaging people screams, “I don’t trust you.” You will never learn what a person is capable of this way. When the marketing lead at GrowthAssistant left, a 20-year-old intern who was still in college raised his hand and said, “I can do this.” I knew Achint well. He was smart, hungry. So we gave him a shot managing a team of 3 and a $10k/month budget. 9 months later, leads were up 100%! It won’t always work, but putting trust in people is the only way they can shine. PS, if your team is looking for elite talent at a fraction of the cost of US folks. Talk to GrowthAssistant. 87% of e-comm stores fail within 90 days of launch. Because they don't understand the psychology of selling: Most brands focus too much on what works, and not enough on WHY it works. Think about a retail sale 🧵
