I think that in a world where to buy event tickets you often have to use the same app that you also use to get into the venue, it shouldn't be that hard to put controls in place that exclude the majority of ticket scalpers out of the equation.

I think the issue is that it’s a nice problem to have for the likes of ticketmaster. It helps to drive up artificial demand which in turn drives up ticket prices and their fees.

But it very much feels like a problem that technology can help to fix. But it’s something that probably won’t happen until forced by legislation.

It won’t stop the people who want to attend but scalp to try to cover part of their own ticket cost but it will make it a lot harder for the rest.

Certainly don’t allow transfers from an account until an account holder has attended a certain number of events and continue to link to event attendance.

Prohibit ticket transfer if an account holder’s event attendance falls below a specific percentage 90% maybe?

Amazing that the tube should be able to offer 4G/5G over the entire network by the end of the year whilst there are huge dead zones on the @GNRailUK route that have been ignored for years. How about it @EE

It would make those many delayed journeys on ironing board seats just a little more bearable!

Disappointed with service from Biggleswade @Sainsburys. Another cancelled delivery with no notice, just an impersonal email telling me my order has been cancelled. Not even the phone call promised on my order email if there are any issues. Becoming a bit of a habit this...

Apparently some short dated salad stuff with yesterday’s date on too. That wasn’t acknowledged as short dated first time. It’s off now though. It’s like they’ve made a point of shitting on the customers they let down yesterday. @sainsburys

So the shop did arrive today. Didn’t really have much choice. They had my money. Better than last time though when they cancelled it again. Definitely the same shop though. The pastries I got for the better half dated yesterday. Just hope the chicken I’m about to cook doesn’t do anything bad to me.

Starting to wonder if @Tesco are more reliable.

Literally anyone with a fraction of a brain could have predicted that abuse of this hugely valuable alarm system would devalue it to the point where it is useless. Anyone, that is, except the actual government. We are led by cretins

Whose idea was the 'emergency wildfire alert' last night? I thought the system was for genuinely life threatening events. I think I'm going to be disabling it on my phone as I don't want to be woken up at 3am when they decide to use it to tell us to conserve water.

Muting this now. I think I’ve added as much to the conversation as I can. It’s Saturday night. I’m out for the night. If you have that option, you should get out too. The temperature is a lot nicer. 🙂

Some interesting responses to this but none really able to convincingly justify why it had to be a national warning, but we're all entitled to opinions. Anyway, the weather is nice so I'm going to make the most of it. We'll soon all be moaning about the cold... 🙂

Why is the zero wonky?

Quick check of my online banking is telling me that that @skytv payment is far too high for what I use it for. Renewal time later in the year. I’m going to get a significant saving. One way or another.

Not at all sure about this No 10 in the North thing. That’s got to be a lot of extra expenditure on security, travel etc to do that, for vibes presumably. And tbh when most of us are getting told we can’t work from home on our own terms, shouldn’t the PM be leading by example?
