My motion for online voting being added to the alternate voting methods for the 2026 election passed! Thanks so much for the robust conversation fellow council members & delegates. I appreciate all of your viewpoints. This is an accessibility win. Special thanks to @Squarest_Root

Vote on 1,2,3: passes unanimously
Vote on 4: Allt, Richardson and Busuttil vote against, but it's approved 10-3.

We're in urgent need of a shower transfer bench with an arm, similar to the one pictured below. Padded seats would be preferable to hard plastic.

Urgent donation request: The Guelph Access Library is in urgent need of a shower bench (see specifications below) and an adjustable hospital tray. Please reach out if you can assist! #Guelph #MobilityAids #Donations #Urgent #Accessibility #DisabilityJustice #MutualAid
We need a shower bench without a back that can fit in a small older tub. See photos for example of shower bench as well as example of hospital tray. Thanks so much for your help!
We're still seeking elbow crutches, as well as a manual wheelchair with a higher weight capacity/"bariatric" wheelchair. Please spread the word, and reach out to us if you can help!

Seeking a pair of elbow crutches!
A community member has reached out looking for a standard-sized pair of elbow crutches (aka forearm crutches, arm crutches, or lofstrand crutches). Please reach out if you have a pair to donate!

The Guelph Access Library is urgently seeking a donation of a manual wheelchair with a higher weight capacity! We only have one manual chair at the moment, and it has an unreasonably low weight capacity, making it inaccessible for many potential users. #Guelph @DEEPguelph
We have a community member currently in need, so let's get them a wheelchair ASAP!
We are also still seeking space—we're currently limited in our capacity to operate due to space constraints. If you have a lead on a location to host us, please reach out! #Guelph @DEEPguelph
Because of the Guelph Access Library, someone got a chance to see a loved one in hospice one last time. If we can find a space and fully launch, we can make more moments like this happen. Please help us find a location! #Guelph @DEEPguelph

Guelph is filled with passionate, caring, generous people & I know that we can get a location if the right person hears about us! Please help us find space, #Guelph!

The Guelph Access Library is desperately seeking a location to host us! We're otherwise pretty much ready to launch, but the issue of space is being a major barrier. (1/4)

The snow removal accessibility issue needs to be prioritized. It’s ridiculous to expect people with mobility issues to stay indoors due to inadequate sidewalk clearing. Down to the pavement, the full width of the sidewalk, every snowfall. Anything less just isn’t good enough.
So @CouncillorCaton literally came to dig me out of my sidewalk issue here in #guelph
@cityofguelph
I’m grateful for good friends like this
@CamGuthrie We need to do something about sidewalk snow removal for #accessibility

Our ideal space would be wheelchair accessible (obviously!), would have access to a power supply for charging items, and would have space for us to sanitize items between uses. (3/4)

If you know of any available space—preferably in a location central to downtown and/or the Ward—please get in touch! We're grateful for any support in finding a location. (4/4)
