Initial thoughts in no particular order about Election 2026, both macro and micro, now that we know how the story ends. 1) 10 of last 11 elections (2012 the exception), the WH or a chamber has changed parties. This is unprecedented – Americans keep voting for political change.

Only the Judiciary Committee nerds will truly appreciate the fact that Scott Colom is only a Senate candidate because Cindy Hyde-Smith did not return a blue slip on his District Court nomination.

Keisha Lance Bottoms: Georgia, we are a state with a rich legacy. We are the home of Congressman John Lewis, who reminded us that democracy is an act, and each generation must do its part to protect it. We are the home of President Jimmy Carter, who said the most powerful title is that of citizen. We are the home of Coretta Scott King, who said there comes a time when time itself is ready for a change. Well, Georgia, that time is now—and no wannabe dictator will stop our momentum.

Less than a week from the November 3 midterm election in Mississippi and Sarah Adlakha, the candidate who ran against U.S. Senator @cindyhydesmith in the Republican Primary in March and was only able to muster 19%, is now appearing in an anti-Hyde-Smith ad funded by Government That Works PAC, the same PAC that was been pushing $1.8 million in pro-Democrat @scott_colom ads. Adlakha announced on Facebook in August that she has now moved to Alabama (link: facebook.com/share/p/1DXcdYS…)
