KenInvest, together with Principal Secretary Abubakar Hassan, PS Trade Regina Ombam, and the Kenya High Commission in London, was honoured to meet with Kate Osamor MP, the UK’s Trade Envoy for East Africa. The session was a valuable opportunity to strengthen UK–Kenya trade relations, with a focus on green investment, digital trade, and government procurement. Trade between Kenya and the UK continues to grow, reaching £1.8 billion in the four quarters to Q4 2024 — a 10.1 percent increase from the previous year. This highlights the strength of our partnership and the potential for even greater collaboration. The UK side raised concerns around tax uncertainty and VAT refund delays, which are affecting business operations. Kenya acknowledged these issues and reaffirmed its commitment to resolving them through policy reforms and stakeholder engagement. At KenInvest, we are committed to creating a predictable and investor-friendly environment, and to working with partners like the UK to unlock new opportunities for sustainable and inclusive investment.
