Assuming nothing crazy, a Democrat is going to win the presidency in 2028. I think worst case scenario is holding at the same number of senators, so if AK and MS stay D this year, that's 56. In 2030, Dems will only need to win all the safe D states to retain at least 50 senators.

That means that if Peltola and Colom hold on, the next president will likely be a Dem with an almost guaranteed Senate majority for all 4 years. That's accounting for a midterm red wave in 2030. And that assumes NC and OH go red in 2028, which is far from guaranteed

In a way, last night's results are the first time I've felt like election results could affect me personally, because this happened. And part of why it took this long to happen is the state leg gets to draw their own maps. Now we can fix them and lock in some of the gains
TRIFECTA DELIVERED. Pennsylvanians just came together to flip the State Senate for the first time in over THREE DECADES — delivering a Democratic trifecta that’s ready to raise the minimum wage, codify reproductive freedom, invest in mass transit, and so much more. I’m so proud to have supported Chris Thomas, Eileen Hartnett Albillar, Mark Pinsley, and Brian Wrightson from Day One in their campaigns. Now, the real work begins — and we’re ready to get shit done.

From the little bit of the vote in so far I think I was just too afraid to jinx it and we're getting Blexas and Blansas

Why have more people not brought up the insane Dutch angle Battlefield Earth ass turncoat announcement video
I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today.

I have an election day confession to make. I did a degeneracy. I put a little bet on Paxton. My reasoning is that if Talarico wins, I'll be fine with losing the money, and if Paxton wins, at least making a little money will make me feel slightly better Don't gamble kids

Call me a Dem bedwetter or w/e but I think they have fucked it on the finish line The 2 Sullivans in AK, I'm not convinced that's enough to matter, but it might be. I give Mary like a 51% chance. I'm hoping Vivek (who will lose) is bad enough to carry Brown over the line in OH.

Last minute change, switch Kansas to tilt R and Iowa to lean R

Amash was always to my right, and I have probably moved economically to the left a little over the years, but even at my most libertarian, I always thought the progressives were the better faction of the Democratic Party for reasons he articulates here better than I could.
It goes without saying that I have major disagreements with both Mike Rogers and Abdul El-Sayed, and neither one particularly likes me. Rogers and I regularly battled in the U.S. House. I’m a staunch defender of liberty and the Constitution, and he’s a champion of big weaponized government, mass surveillance, and endless wars. He tried (and failed) to oust me from Congress. When I was considering a presidential run in 2020, El-Sayed wrote a gratuitous op-ed to warn people that “Justin Amash is no hero,” calling my principles “heartless” and finishing with the reminder: “Your enemy’s enemy is not your friend.” In short, I have no soft spot for either of these guys. I also don’t vote for “the lesser of two evils.” I believe you should support a candidate only if you truly want the person to hold that office. I’ve already voted, and consistent with the above principle, I didn’t vote for Rogers or El-Sayed. But I do know which one would be more dangerous in the U.S. Senate—and it’s not even close. So we have different priorities, and different ideologies. I never really agreed with his way of voting when he was in Congress, nor his way of voting in this election. But I have to respect him, along with anyone else holding strong at the bottom side of the compass

And he is a far more legitimate libertarian than the absolute freak larpers at LPNH, for example

And Dems don't need a rockstar to beat Vivek for Governor. He's Vivek.

I wanted to make myself feel better so I did a governors prediction. Dems are poised to crush it in these for the most part. PA being this safe is hilarious, I'm going to do my bit of voting third party in safe elections just for the hell of it

Please do treat the tilts as the low-confidence predictions they are. I am far from certain about GA, IA, KS, AK. And Oregon, tragically. What the hell is that about man. At least NV early voting is looking really good for Dems.

I simply cannot be mature about Vivek in Ohio, this is one of the most satisfying things I have ever seen. I have long expected him to lose but even I didn't expect him to fuck it this bad. He fully deserves it! I'm happy that my neighboring state will have a Democratic governor.
