Big developers have set their sights on the Levels. If you love the place as we do, please help us in our David and Goliath battle and support our fundraiser.

This weekend we are showing the extraordinary doc film WILDING at 4.30 on Sat and 7.30 on Sun. Anyone who cares about our eco system should watch it. @AceMonmon2024 @GwentLevels @BeesForDev @monmouthevents @CatherineFookes @WyeValleyNL @wye
Interesting.
NationCymru is confirming that Labour MS Hannah Blythyn was not the source of our story that revealed Vaughan Gething told ministerial colleagues he was deleting messages written during the Covid-19 crisis wp.me/p8Mk4U-KH2
So hang on - the whole point of the @HendreLakes scheme was the delivery of a station. And now we have to pay for the station that’s in the wrong place and has a monstrous concrete development attached to it. What the actual? nation.cymru/news/gething-ba…

Development threats from #CardiffCouncil include so-called Hendre Lakes development aiming to site massive Cardiff Parkway railway station, parking for thousands of cars & vast multi-storey industrial development on vital flood-defence SSSI Levels. Pls support @GwentLevels
This is what we’re up against. The disregard for nature is mind-boggling. walesonline.co.uk/news/polit…

🌿🌊Wetlands provide crucial ecosystem services, combat flooding, & support high #biodiversity! 🦆
But they're disappearing fast: over 85% of the world's wetlands have already been lost.🐸
📷Explore 5 key facts about these ecosystems with @IPBES infographic! ⬇️
ALT This vertical infographic, titled "5 FACTS about WETLANDS," includes illustrations and key points about wetlands: Definition of wetlands as areas subject to soil saturation, with adapted plant communities and modified soils. Biodiversity: They have critical importance for biodiversity, especially as habitats for migratory species. Ecosystem Services: Wetlands mitigate flash flooding and play a role in carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation. Threats: They face risks from changes in water inflows, overfishing, and land use changes like drainage. Decline: Over 85% of wetland areas have been lost. IPBES #GlobalAssessment, Regional Assessment for the Americas and #LandDegradation Assessment are featured as sources. The visuals include a stork, a lotus flower, a frog, and a tuft of grass, each representing wetland characteristics and inhabitants.
