This work is part of the Responsible AI for a Secure and Trustworthy Energy Transition (RISE) project, funded by the International NEC Energy Transition Grant and a collaboration between @AstonUniversity and @uniten 🤝.
In response, we develop the RAI Communication Model to guide organisations in building genuine legitimacy by:
♦️ Aligning AI initiatives with measurable sustainability goals.
♦️ Developing trustworthy narratives backed by concrete evidence.
♦️ Active stakeholder engagement.
💡 What's the key insight?
Our research uncovered a critical "say-do" gap. While EU energy stakeholders rightly view AI as essential for the energy transition (supporting SDG7), aspirational commitments do not include practical, measurable actions needed for Responsible AI (RAI).
My new research paper aims to help the energy sector move beyond rhetoric to build real trust in AI.
