The power that Evangelicalism has over Latin Americans is immense. Meet any Guatemalan or Honduran auntie and they’ll be Evangelical It’s mostly the aunts who are super zealous and get into it via Facebook memes and the charisma of the local preacher, and then they wrangle the rest of the family. That’s how my whole family in Colombia turned from everyday Catholic mass-goers into Evangelicals in the span of like a year. It’s weird
