The U.S. exported $1.14 billion worth of dairy into Canada last year, and their dairy industry has an $850 million trade surplus with Canada.
Canadian tariffs on U.S. dairy aren’t even being applied.
50,000 metric tons of milk can come into Canada tariff free. Once these thresholds are surpassed, over-quota tariffs apply, which can range from 200% to over 250% depending on the product (e.g., 241% for milk, up to 298% for butter).
In practice, however, the U.S. rarely exceeds these quotas.
The complaining about unfair trade practices regarding Canadian dairy is particularly interesting when you learn the U.S. dairy industry is highly subsidized by the U.S. government, making it easy for U.S. dairy producers to undercut Canadian ones.

Canada's 200% tarriff on US dairy doesn't raise money for Canada It prevents Canadians from buying US dairy as it is too expensive.

December is an important month for Christians marking the celebration of advent and the birth of Jesus.
My colleague MP @MarilynGladuSL has tabled Bill C-369 to designate December Christian Heritage Month across Canada.

Was able to do another Yield Monitor vs Weigh wagon comparison yesterday. Take home yield monitors are great for field variability determination but not for hybrid comparisons. For hybrid/variety data you need to use a scale 4 good data. Bad data is worse than no data. #ontag

Summarizing data from #glgtour2023 looking at days of 30C or > from May to Sept. There were 13 days last year vs 3 so far this year. Avg day time temp in 2022 was 24.9, min 15.9, in 2023 , 23.6 and 13.9 makes for a diff roughly of 2. CHU/day, adds up over over 133 days
This is getting spread all around the area. I am told this is sewage sludge from the fine city of Detroit. Apparently if you don’t import Detroit sludge and apply it, your crops will no longer germinate and grow ? Is this really what this product is?
White mould ALERT. This is what the apothecia or fruiting bodies look like. From here the spores fly and land on the fallen petals and white mould starts. I found this one on my first try. Acapela now followed by Viatude at r2-3 will give best control. @corteva

FYI - The MSO sold in IPCO’s Contender is not a surfactant/oil blend. It will reduce the efficacy of your in crop soybean herbicide if tank mixing Contender with a broadleaf herbicide. Use a proper surfactant/oil blend like Suremix or Winfield’s Journey.

Based on 7 trials conducted in Ontario, there is a corn yield loss of 2.5 bu/ac for every one inch in weed height up to 2 inches. Yield loss accelerates as weeds be taller. There is a corn yield loss of 6 bu/ac for every 1 inch increase in weed height between 2 and 8 inches.
