Instead of running greenwashing ads, maybe Chevron could put up a few honest billboards

NHC has initiated advisories on Tropical Depression Fourteen (future #Milton) in the western Gulf of Mexico. The inaugural forecast calls for a near-Cat-3 #hurricane hitting the west coast of #Florida on Wednesday morning. TS winds would extend 150 mi SE of the center, to S Fla.

With a dropsonde confirming a pressure of 897ish millibars, #Milton joins an elite list of storms. The only Atlantic tropical cyclones with a central pressure below 900mb are Allen (1980), Rita (2005), Labor Day (1935), Gilbert (1988), and Wilma (2005).
Aircraft data from the NOAA Hurricane Hunters aircraft flying in #Milton finds that it has strengthened throughout the day, with extrapolated pressures falling beneath 900mb. If this can be verified by dropsondes, it would be the strongest TC in the Atlantic since Wilma 2005.

Today is a big victory for California’s fight to hold gas and oil companies accountable. Thank you @GavinNewsom for signing the #MakePollutersPay bill package into law. CA communities are one step closer to a fossil free future #AB1866 #AB3233 #AB2716

JUST IN: Entire home seen floating away in Asheville, North Carolina as tropical storm Helene demolishes the state.
The situation is so bad that a 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. curfew is now in effect.
The city is facing what experts are calling a 1 in 1000-year event with the French Broad River reaching over 25 feet, breaking the July 16, 1916 record of 23.1 feet.

YES! Love to see Harris talking about holding polluters accountable.
Her record of taking on Big Oil is one of the strongest things she brings to the table on climate.
Let’s get a President who will #MakePollutersPay!

A friend just reminded me it’s the 10 year anniversary of the People’s Climate March that brought 400,000 people to streets of NYC and hundreds of thousands more worldwide!
That day helped turbocharge the climate movement and fuel many of the wins we’ve gotten since. Onwards!

This event is going to totally rock and if you're in NYC next week, you should definitely come.
We'll be roasting Big Oil, cracking climate jokes, and hearing from California's Attorney General about how to #MakePollutersPay!

New York Governor @KathyHochul is dragging her feet on signing an *overwhelmingly* popular bill that would make polluters pay for climate impacts.
More than 70% of New York voters support a Climate Change Superfund Act.
Here's what else our polling showed -->

*THIS* We’ve got to see climate not as “just another issue,” but something that turns up the temperature on every other priority.
Climate change is the kitchen table issue of our lifetimes, threatening the American dream, driving up inflation, food prices, housing costs, healthcare, immigration, utility bills.
That it's still treated like a niche side issue is insane.

BIG NEWS: We're thrilled to be supporting the *first ever* federal bill that would #MakePollutersPay for climate damages!!
The Polluters Pay Climate Fund act would raise *$1 TRILLION* from Big Oil to help families & communities deal with climate impacts.
For too long, big polluters have been fueling the climate crisis while making US taxpayers foot the bill. ENOUGH.
Today, @RepJerryNadler & I are introducing our #PollutersPay Climate Fund Act to make polluters use some of their record profits to clean up the mess they have made.
Jamie Henn retweeted
The concept behind my #PollutersPay Climate Fund Act w/ @RepJerryNadler is simple: big polluters should have to use some of their record profits to clean up the mess they’ve caused.
Tune in NOW as we discuss how this bill will hold polluters accountable: teapawt.net/i/broadcasts/1MnGnDjAy…

You'll be shocked to learn that the largest program in the country pushing "Renewable Natural Gas" was actually a sham designed to block electrification and keep consumers hooked on methane.
Seriously though, great report in @propublica

Right now, the public is bearing 100% of the costs of climate disasters. It's time for the polluters who fueled the crisis to pay their fair share. #MakePollutersPay

Every #silver dip is being bought up relentlessly. The consolidation is soon over and the next leg higher towards $50 is about to start. Imo the time to load up is right now.

We will soon leave sub $30 #silver prices for good and head to new all-time-highs above $50 thereby forcing banks to liquidate their monstrous naked short positions and fueling the #silversqueeze.

#silver and #gold to the moon like and retweet if you believe .. let’s see how many of you believe in my magic (manipulated market style )
There's a good chance that #silver put in a cyclical low last week. If true, we are probably on the cusp of a massive rally to new all-time-highs above $50 till year-end.
Alternatively a quick dip to $26/25 is still in the cards before the uptrend resumes.
