Replying to @IAGovernor
@IAGovernor is it illegal for Iowa public schools such as @UrbandaleJHawks and @WaukeeNW to refuse cash as payment to purchase a ticket to watch a school sponsored event (i.e. a kids’ track meet)?

@IAGovernor it seems @WaukeeHS also refuses to accept cash as payment to enter a public high school track meet and charges a fee to use a card. This is ridiculous and illegal!

We shouldn’t be forced to pay by card and then have to pay additional fees to process a card payment at a public school event.

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System states "United States coins and currency [including Federal Reserve notes and circulating notes of Federal Reserve Banks and national banks] are legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues."
