Today, we welcomed WO1 John Miller, the Army Sergeant Major, who visited Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (HQ ARRC) and Gurkha ARRC Support Battalion (GASB). During his visit, soldiers delivered live briefs on operational commitments, priorities, training pathways, readiness challenges, and raised any concerns. The discussions highlighted how we are developing our people through education and training, reinforcing standards that underpin battlefield discipline, and sharing innovative ideas from the ground up, including their connection to wider Army initiatives. WO1 Miller also took the opportunity to recognise outstanding personnel with Army coins and engage directly with soldiers. It was a valuable visit that strengthened our focus on readiness, innovation, and soldier development. #WeAreNATO #StrongerTogether

German Bivouac 2026. 🇩🇪 The ARRC German contingent hosted a special ‘bivouac’ (night watch) garden party for their NATO colleagues. Traditionally celebrated on October 3rd, this normally falls within an exercise period, so it is brought forward to coincide with the better weather. With around 300 guests from all 20 Partner Nations in HQ ARRC, the event was kindly supported by a Bundeswehr field catering team and 40 members of the German Airforce Music Corps (Luftwaffen Musik Korps) based in Muenster, Germany. The night was capped off under darkness with torches lit and the National Anthems of Germany and the UK played by the German Airforce Music Corps. #STRONGERTOGETHER #WEARENATO

The King's Birthday Reception 2026. This year, COMARRC Lieutenant General Mike Elviss hosted the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Gloucester, Richard Bradley, along with a select list of guests and local dignitaries. The British Army Band Tidworth provided a flawless display of military music, ceremonial drill, and pageantry; under the setting sun, the Vice Lord Lieutenant then took the salute. Beating the Retreat is a historic military tradition dating back to 1690. Today, it follows Trooping the Colour and is marked across the Armed Forces, with the London performance held on Horse Guards Parade. The event features the Massed Bands, Pipes and Drums, and Corps of Drums of the Household Division, supported by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery #WeAreNATO #StrongerTogether

HQ ARRC welcomed 10 Members of Parliament and 2 Lords from the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme (AFPS) to Imjin Barracks on 25 June 2026 for an in‑depth look at how the UK delivers land power to NATO. During their visit, parliamentarians explored the Corps’ evolving role as NATO’s Strategic Reserve, gaining first‑hand insight into how a 3‑star headquarters prepares for, integrates, and commands multinational forces in high‑intensity operations. The AFPS engagement showcased how corps‑level warfighting underpins NATO deterrence, highlighting the realities of readiness, interoperability, and the complex challenges faced by a modern, deployable headquarters operating within an Alliance framework. Visits like this strengthen understanding in Westminster of the ARRC’s capabilities and strategic value — helping develop informed advocates who can champion Defence priorities and the Corps’ contribution to NATO operations. gov.uk/government/organisati… #WeAreNATO #StrongerTogether
