Big takeaway: the ability to maximize a healthy and satisfying sex life into older adulthood is not only related to health and physical functioning, but also our attitudes and social connections
A new study at #Mizzou found that older adults who feel positive about aging tend to have a healthier sex life. The adults with positive perceptions of aging not only had more satisfaction during sex but also had sex more frequently. ➡️bit.ly/MUAging

“With data from more than 1,100 couples, we were able to find that participants with a more positive perception of aging also had sex more frequently as well as increased satisfaction” @HSkoblow

👏👏👏 yes! How we talk about aging and older people can perpetuate the challenge identified by Dr. Wilkerson 👇 or invite people to embrace aging as something we’re all doing and should support. @Isabelwilkerson #AgingSoCool #ReframingAging #GSA2022

One on One...Are you attending #GSA2022? Make sure you stop by booth 214 in the Exhibitor Hall at Conference Center Hall D to meet the @ReframingAging team, pick up your #AgingSoCool button/sticker, and tell the team why you think #aging is great!
I thought I might organize some thoughts with the classic cut-up technique, forgetting that I have a cat
Excited to announce a new paper out in The Gerontologist @geronsociety! 🥳 We examined the link between older couples' perceptions of aging and their sexual activity and satisfaction.

Wrapped up my second week as a Summer Policy Intern with @geronsociety! What a fantastic opportunity to learn about implementing tangible, concrete benefits for older adults. And it’s not over yet—here’s to more growth over the next month!
After two recent acceptances from @ncfr and @geronsociety, I am *so* excited for my first in-person conference presentations (knocking on wood)! See y'all in November!

Yesterday's first annual #MizzouHDFS Student Research Symposium was a success. Hana Skoblow, HDFS doctoral student, earned the first place distinction for her work on sexual health in older adult couples. A big thank you to our three guest judges from other CEHD departments!
When I found out about this book, I sprinted to my laptop to preorder it. Happy pub day to @BeccaLevyPhD! I can't wait to start reading. harpercollins.com/products/b…
