It seems like there's always this problem of not being able to dm someone because our dm function or the other party's was set to 'No one' by default. While mutual followers can always message each other, the message request can be opened to all if u follow the steps in the pics.

Maybe it makes me a bad person, but I laughed at the "People on Reddit and Twitter were mean." part.
You stole stuff that we, the writers, worked really hard on and were selling it without our permission, what the f*ck did you expect???

they scrapped a whole lot of fanfics and were making money off them w/o author consent and were charging for ai audiobooks and were definitely scamming ppl

….???? mind u it’s not only completely illegal to charge money at ALL for fanfics, but authors absolutely hold the right to say “hey maybe don’t feed my fic into ai and charge people without my knowledge” if you did even the smallest bit of research you’d see how fishy this all

Microsoft has k*lled another way to skip the Microsoft account login in Windows 11.
A simple “Learn more” link on the setup screen recently let users create a local account without using Command Prompt, editing the Registry, or disconnecting from the internet.
Now, Microsoft has patched it. On a fresh Windows 11 26H2 installation image, clicking the link just opens a page about data privacy and sends you back to the sign-in screen.
Microsoft has been blocking other workarounds for months, making it increasingly difficult to install Windows 11 without an online account.
Microsoft VP Scott Hanselman previously admitted he hates forced sign-in, saying, “Ya, I hate that. Working on it.”
So much for making Windows less annoying.

Microsoft has filed a patent for ads that could interrupt games after boss fights, cutscenes, quests and multiplayer rounds
Players would receive credits granting temporary game access, while watching an ad would award another credit to let them resume

If you thought Smart TVs spying on you, listening to your conversation, etc. was bad... Microsoft just took it a step farther with a patent that would allow them to do the same, but on your computer and ANY interactive software. This would open the door for any software from Windows to Games, to spy on their users.
That's right. If you are gaming, Microsoft will listen to your conversation, what you say to your loved ones in your home, watch your screen, etc. They will stalk you.
Microsoft will also inject commercials into your gaming experience after you take a bathroom break, beat a boss or lose to a boss, grab a drink, change games, etc.
They also plan to further dampen your experience by adding a credit system to gaming. So in order for you to game, you have to earn credits by watching commercials. This double dipping will allow them to force gamers to watch commercials in order to game while selling advertising space for companies.
This is evil.

This...Really is the second attempt at such a mechanism by MS. The first was with the Xbox One at launch--before they were forced to change it.
MS never throws away _any_ of their most onerous plans--only defers them for later when you're not looking.

This is why you have to bully the fuck out of companies.
They will hide shady shit in the ToS to try to avoid a lawsuit and take advantage of the consumer, they literally do not stop until the law tells them otherwise.
Forget digital licenses...
ALL of us made accounts assuming we would have permanent ownership
Imagine, no physical games, and on top of this you lose access to your entire library cause you didn't play for awhile lmao
I hope people sue them into oblivion the day they decide to pull this shit.
Fucking cook them!
PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND:
We have to talk about the physical vs digital data, A LOT of people still buy Physical games on PS5.
More than you think, like WAY MORE! Please read and understand what Sony is doing it trying to FORCE DIGITAL games! IMO this should not even be legal:
- FY2025 Full Year (Apr 2025 – Mar 2026) = the digital to physical split was 78%/22%.
But this does NOT tell the whole story. Because this is all games sold, not all games that have physical copies and digital! So majority of the 78/22 split don't even have physical, let's look at some real numbers from leaks and stats we have:
From Insomniac Leak:
- God of War Ragnarök: 76% Physical / 24% Digital
- Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga: 63% Physical / 37% Digital
- Astro Bot: 55% Physical / 45% Digital
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: 54% Physical / 46% Digital
- Assassin's Creed Mirage: 49% Physical / 51% Digital
- Resident Evil 4 Remake: 45% Physical / 55% Digital
- Hogwarts Legacy: 44% Physical / 56% Digital
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: 40% Physical / 60% Digital
UK / Europe Retail Data (GSD – 2023/2024):
- Astro Bot: 55% Physical (UK) / and 60% Physical (Europe) – 2024
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: 54% Physical (UK) – 2023
- Assassin's Creed Mirage: 49% Physical (UK) – 2023
- Hogwarts Legacy: 45% Physical (UK) – 2023
- Resident Evil 4 Remake: 45% Physical (UK) – 2023
- Horizon Forbidden West: 51% Physical (UK) – 2022
People still buy a lot of physical games on PS5, especially when it's SINGLE PLAYER GAMES. When it's more mp then it goes down to more digital. But please don't just listen to the 78%/22% split, those numbers are overall numbers and don't represent the full story AS YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE!
Because it's not a fair comparison since all games don't have a physical copy or eventually stop printing it. They are trying to paint a narrative to control prices and take ownership from you, that is the truth and spread it!

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
With the disappearance of physical retail sales, Sony would hold a monopoly over video game sales on PlayStation because alternative digital stores are not allowed on the platform.
Without alternatives, consumers will be forced to accept unfavorable terms.

A lot of PS5 owners are becoming interested in jailbreaking their consoles after Sony announced it will stop releasing new PlayStation games on physical discs.
A jailbroken PS5 can run homebrew apps, emulators, and other unofficial software. Players see it as a way to preserve games and keep older titles working in the future if Sony decides to start removing games one day.

The PlayStation post about the end of physical media has been Community Noted.
It has also received nearly 70,000 replies, with people extremely mad about it. This could be one of the Playstationbiggest backlash in recent years.
PlayStation has also stopped posting since announcing the change.
“Digital purchases grant a revocable license to access content, not ownership. Sony recently removed hundreds of purchased StudioCanal movies from libraries due to licensing.”

The Stop Killing Games movement has officially backed the proposed California bill focused on protecting players when online games are shut down.
> Publishers must provide an offline mode or a way to keep the game playable after server shutdown.
> If this is not possible, players should receive a full refund.
> The goal is to protect digital ownership and game preservation.
This proposal follows growing concerns over games becoming completely inaccessible once support ends, especially after shutdowns like The Crew.
Most gamers think that if players pay for a game, it should remain playable or be fairly compensated.
