As awful as this is, it's also a wakeup to anyone thinking about retirement solutions. One set of stats don't apply to everyone, and a one size fits all approach doesn't work. #retirementisdifferent

Thanks Household Capital for having me: was a great session sitting alongside @SenatorHume and Deanne Stewart, @awaresuper CEO, and others on the panel discussing key retirement issues. With thanks also to Deanne for hosting in Sydney, nice to not do a virtual panel for a change!

Thanks @HarryChemay for the Milliman shout out. We’re certainly passionate about making the technical and financially- unrelatable more meaningful for both the retiree and the people that advise or look after them.

Marginally excited about this. Pity have to wait another 8 months given how timely the topic is... @CassSunstein

One weird upshot of early release- friends and acquaintances wholly unconnected to my industry are suddenly interested in what I do in superannuation. #earlyrelease #engagement
Negative inflows might be nice to force mergers, but are a short term way to look at super. We forget that long term its a goal of super maturity. After all if I put 1 dollar of super in, I want less out. Over to you @Cooperannuation @MrJThomson afr.com/chanticleer/virus-ca…
Great chat with a large super fund yesterday on their #earlyrelease experience. A matter of fact conversation against some very trying times. Interesting stat from their experience: only 10% of the second tranche are new; the rest are all those who are coming back for more.
Poor form @FinancialReview. In 2020, you can’t cover @AMPCapital issues and then also choose gratuitous bikini shots only tangentially connected to the topic of the article, and clearly designed for the very readership you’re trying to expose.
We’ve now got a cottage industry of people making advice harder because interpretations of the law have become more about risk management for the advice firms. We need to liberate advice again so consumers actually get what they need.
Just thinking about #financialadvice It's funny, but I didn't once get the sense that any of the Hayne problems arose because SoAs weren't long enough or checked thoroughly enough or that other routine compliance processes were lacking.
