West Ham were in a horrible state when they went down in 2011. Difference then was getting Allardyce and having leaders like Noble, Nolan, Tomkins, Reid and Green. That team miles clear of this one.

It may not be the most long-termist appointment, but promotion is a non-negotiable for West Ham, and appointing a manager who has three recent promotions behind him is a no-brainer imo.
