Bringing the conversation back to its public health implications, @VIhekweazu stressed that domestic API production is ultimately about people, not just pharmaceutical manufacturing.
As she put it, when a mother in Minna or Ado-Ekiti cannot find an antimalarial for her child, or finds it at a price she cannot afford, that is a health outcome.
Where an ingredient is synthesised may sound like an industrial question, but it ends up at the pharmacy counter and in the consulting room.
